What did Hoffman do?

Other than make an easy try look really difficult and make some pretty tame hit ups. Neither Cini or Hoffman will be pushing the Nofo/Jennings/Thompson wing battle.

No. But Johns will.

Johns isn’t eligible for first grade unless he gets an upgraded deal. At the moment he’s signed on as a reserve grader.

Release a few dropkicks and upgrade him.

Yep agree .... we have some deadwood in our first 30 squad numbers.

A fair bit of it is gone at the end of the season. If we get lucky with a Packer medical retirement it’s a win. I reckon Reynolds could well look at trying to find an ESL contract by the end of this season to secure his future - I’m sure Madge will assist as best as possible. Real issue is having utility Mbye on big coin for another few seasons.

I agree. I wasn't fussed on either. I reckon they can handle State Cup, but they're nowhere near ready for FG.

Bit hard to judge on that 2nd half...doubt they would have that many training sessions together and basically all they did was defend and chase the Pamfers outside backs..

Can't take too much from yesterday's game as we fielded a predominately CC squad, however I was disappointed with our lack of defensive resilience in the second half.

Litmus test will be how our combinations gel against the Warriors.

If we don't snag Grant I'm happy with what Walters has shown so far, he should be our 9 and not Mbye.

We haven’t even seen Mbye play hooker yet. Walters looked good but needs to just let the halves do the work sometimes instead of trying to jump out of hooker every time. Besides that his service is good and he’s a good defender. Would be a massive benefit to us if he can play 80

Nofo been on the wing for years scoring some great tries yet lets one or two tries in a game
excusesfor years it is the centres fault we change centres same thing he is a defensive liability
time to try new wingers we havent made semis for 9 years and nofo seems to be a constant in that period.

Missed the finals 9 years in a row and it’s the wingers fault. Good one.

nah, its also Brooks fault. Going into his 7th year of potential. He's only played 130 games, he'll come good in a few more years. ?

He already is good

by 'good' do you mean bog average?

Yawn, tell me something I haven’t heard the last 5 years. Be original.

"yawn" pretty much what the opposition does when Brooks gets the ball in attack.

Acknowledges years of garbage and still thinks Brooks is a good halfback. 0 and 6 seasons as a half back leading his team to finals footy. A real champion, any other team with any sort of standards and he'd have played 30 games at most. Pretty obvious when the 'big 4' were available, not a single club was looking at signing Brooks so he clung to the Tigers like dags on a sheep. Without a decent half back, Tigers will never make the finals.

#facts

Prince 05 finals
Johnny 'Cronk" Morris 07-09 nothing
Rob Lui 10' 11' finals
Miller/Moltzen/Anasta 12' 13' - putrid
Brooks 14-20 garbage

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!

When the 'Big 4' fiasco was happening.... Melbourne made Brooks and offer and wanted him to join the Storm.

You are just making things fit your "Anti Brooks" agenda.

Say what you like about Brooks but keep to the facts at least.

..........and no, a random twitter account doesnt count.

Mate! I am not going back a couple of years searching for information.

It was fact at the time. Guarantee it. I am sure others on here would or could back this fact up.

So i guess we will just take your word for it. however, I do remember Brooks said that he never ever wanted to leave the Tigers because he knew he was a bog average first grade half back and couldnt get a better deal anywhere else. Guarantee it. I am not going back a couple of years searching for information. It was fact at the time.

That's tripe. Brooks has never said that.

context

the circumstances that form the setting for an event, statement, or idea, and in terms of which it can be fully understood.

When you have no facts this is what you resort to. Bravo.

no facts? i gave you what the word context means. Maybe reply to something after you have read and understood why it was written.

I know what the word means Stryker. You've got your axe to grind with Brooks and no one here really expects to hear anything different from you.

Is Dink Stryker?
Well I'll be damned...

No, its what the less fortunate resort to when they cant retort anything of intelligence. Ive been on here since 2004, longer then all whos calling me Stryker. Ive had the same username, just hadnt rejoined for years until last year.

You rejoined because you were previously banned.

hahaha, yeah sure, i havent been on here for at least 5 years. Ive lived in China for years used a VPN to get access, only been back in Australia a little bit.

So this was always your user name?
Willow is a fed.

something like fair dinkum and it goes back to 2004. maybe had some dashes or dots. Cant remember the exact name, email or password, so i signed up last year again.

Ah true.
No beef from me.

Just always wondered where stryker went.

I remember the name, cant remember anything about the user.

Stryker had The Big Leboski meme one of my all time favourite films

Sure did.
Awful movie.
Haha.

Watch it again its awesome

Seen it 100 times.
Hate it as much as I hate pulp fiction..

Weird arty hipster trash

What films do you rate then?

Kung fu hustle is great have you seen that?

If anything trial showed we wasting our money with these players.

More of the same this year.

David Fifita apparently isn’t sure if he’ll be at broncos after 2020 - most likely just trying to get more money out of the Broncos but we would be stupid not to throw all our money at him.

He’s going to be one of the games best players for a long long time.

Looked rly close with the South's boys last night...
I know Wayne isn't sticking around but could this be an option for the kid?

What a player tho eh.
Absolute gun.

If the Warriors weren't around the best bet this season would be Bronco's for the spoon or Siebold to be first coach sacked. Players hate him and don't want to play for him.

Agreed and that will take a few rounds of first grade experience for Walters to get his game on point. He's quick off the mark, passes well and he's evasive.

Mbye was excellent for us in the centres at the back end of last year - great hands, solid defence and he showed creativity. IMO he's a player that needs one clear and constant position to shine, so for mine it's Mbye at centre, Walters at 9.

That is because Walters is a five eighth, not a hooker, and that is our problem

He comes from great hooking stock and has played 9 in QC so I don't think the transition will be difficult.

I hope we get Grant, but I honestly think he's our best option if we don't.

Walters IS a hooker and he showed that last night. He played great with a baby half back, wait til you see him with Brooks outside him. We don't have a problem at 9 any more. We don't have a problem at fullback. With Musgrove, Mikaele, Twal we have 3 top shelf front rowers and plenty of very good back rowers. With Matheson Johns applying that sort of pressure in the backs we've got BJ, Momo and Mbye all looking over their shoulders. I can't wait for the season to kick off.

Needs to perfect the craft tbh.
Looked like a hero out there trying to single handedly win the game when he's a career reserve grade

Still better than that flop Reynolds so see what he can do when he figures out his place in the team.

Would still prefer Grant but think Walters is showing he’s not a bad option either. I think with brooks and Benji out there demanding the ball off him (and probably having a go at him if they don’t get it) he’ll be more willing to pass straight off the ground too them.

I wonder if any top players will leave their clubs before June 30th - I’m still dirty we didn’t get DWZ last year.

If Walters keeps doing well I think Mbye will be picked at centre and hopefully Walters can play 80

Same as Damien Cook was a half but different to say, Michael Liicha who wasn;t.

Whats everyone's thoughts on having a chat to Teddy in November? He comes off the Roosters contract in 2021.

I'd say we only would have a slim chance, but the club has it's act together now and maybe he sees a lure in pulling a Robbie/Benji?

We can shift Douiehi into 5/8th.

Would be surprised if roosters haven’t locked him down by then, but if he is available then definitely go have a chat to him. The club is in a far better state than what it is when he left and we’ll have money to afford him so may as well have a crack.
