Don’t know about NRL on Nine’s accuracy but they just posted an article via Facebook that essentially says we will try shop Marshall overseas to ESL and lure Foran...couldn’t think of a more Wests Tigers signing if it was true.

Wouldn't place an once of truth in that myself.

The Tigers may make a bid to sign the rejuvenated Kieran Foran next season to replace favourite son Benji Marshall.

The grand old man of NRL playmakers at 35, Marshall seems set to finish his career in England next year.

Although currently not in the Tigers' top side with coach Michael Maguire going with the Luke Brooks-Josh Reynolds combination, Marshall gives the Tigers great experience and will be a big loss.

He has played pretty good the last two weeks I thought.

Foran would be the perfect partner for Brooks 'and' the perfect leader for our team.

Still a great player. Controls games better than anyone we have.

But...as we all know...whether his body can stand up to it is a whole different issue.

Not that I believe the rumour, but at some stage a transition to a young half has to occur. We play Madden and accept he will make errors and miss tackles. Brooks of all halves is best placed to teach him on how a half should improve his defence for the NRL.

They cannot be seriously considering signing him.
We have enough “ experienced” players warming the benches, we need to build a team of youngsters that hopefully won’t be snatched from under our noses.

Marshall, like Farah, is Tigers through and through. Why would they bring Benji back to his club (and extend his contract at Maguire's urging) only to 'shop' him overseas? Benji at this age doesn't get shopped, he *chooses* to play Super League or see out the season and retire. And for us to then make a play for Foran? Mole, you are drunk.

Seems media speculators think the Tigers should sign a controlling half though. If they want an over-the-hill type then Blake Green or Chad Townsend are the ones.

They’re not really shopping him, his contract ends after this season so more like they’re just not re-signing him

As they should, Benji has had his day, we don’t need him next year
