I think I will take a punt on JREY still being with us next year,he is working well with Brooks and his game is becoming more dynamic with Grub in the team...just my opinion Im not Madge,but he has made some decisions we didn't expect from him eg Benji relegated to bench,McIntyre into 17 and generally getting the team to make their defense a priority rather than hail mary attack that we have been used to..
Whatever Madge decides for this team I bet it will be for their benefit for a competitive future getting to be top finals prospects,playing for 80 and being consistent week in week out..

I honestly don't know what plans he has for Walters and Madden,but Im sure Madge will give them an opportunity to show their worth....

I believe JR is doing what Madge wants atm...irrespective of what his price is,it was negotiated by a former coach,not JRs fault,so in having said that,he must be in good shape and Madge is utilising him in the 5/8 position...I believe he is doing the best he can for us and always TRIES his best,I don't want to compare him to other people because he is what we have got to best fill the void....
Munster and Ponga are very good footballers in 2 different systems atm,I wonder how they would go here under the same circumstances JR has been through with injuries etc..

You have been very critical of Brooks. Isn't he doing what Maguire wants atm also, albeit on far less $ and with less experience than JR? I believe JR is not providing bang for buck and needs to lift his game significantly.

Paws you have an opinion that your entitled to in regards to JR...Madge must have a view where he seems to think JR is benefitting the team and that's why he selects him...If you read my post in the wts v dogs thread you would have read that I admitted openly of being critical of Brooks in the past but have also praised his improved game …
The one main theme in your post is how JR must lift his game significantly because of the money he is on...that was what he was contracted on,go and speak to Cleary about that,as far as I can see is that Madge is playing JR because our Iconic 5/8 had defensive issues so Madge is utilising JR because he was an origin player and has significant experience in that position,albeit he was sidelined for a very long time and is now getting game time and adapting to the new rules as well..

As far as Brooks goes I have praised him in the other thread,its a poor argument saying he hasn't got the experience JR has,he has had 7 years of NRL experience and JR is a fair bit older..

Regardless of who is in charge, an employee should be performing commensurate with their contract. He has more experience than any half at our club. He should be doing much better but is not. The.team needs him to lift.

You keep saying he needs to lift...he has been sidelined for a long time and was put it because our specialist iconic 5/8 wasn't doing what Madge wanted in regard to defence..JR is just starting to get into a rythym and working with Brooks,they are both improving their game..
You keep pushing your agenda against JR,we get it you don't like him and he should be putting in more...How about you get his injuries and go through what he has in his personal life and see if you SIGNIFICANTLY put in overnight...

You add the footy experience between our 3 halves as a whole and they are far more experienced than any other side ..and by a fair bit

Reynolds has been put in to play 5/8 because our club legend is fading slightly in his game...Reynolds had to play reggies while Benji kept getting selected,he is now getting game time and adapting to the new rules...
You reckon you know so much about the game but don't give credit to a bloke (JR) for at least having a go and giving what he can from the little game time he has had..

His Canberra game wasn't great ...even Geo owned that

I agree his Raiders game wasn't that good,but when he played the Cows his game was much improved,especially his running game,and it will only get better as the season progresses ...In my opinion he is playing his natural game with JR in the side,he is not being choked by Benji calling the shots and he has to get used to having Grub as his halves partner after having Benji there all the time...

Was Benji playing with Brooks when he was at dragon’s or the broncos, but I guess he was still holding him back even when he wasn’t at the club

He did but do you put that down to Benji or Lukes natural ability and being coached by Madge...

So Brooks win Dally M in 2018 under Cleary who is now coaching the Leaders of the comp this year...I thought Luke won 2019 Dally M under Madge who is a premiership winning coach....

But lets put it down to the brilliance of our 5/8 Benji who has defensive liabilities and is on the bench as we speak...

Nope, Mitch Moses won it last year.

I think it says more about Barrett not being an accomplished NRL coach...he may have tried his best to be a coach,but didn't seem to have what it takes to be a successful coach...
Jason Taylor wanted to be a head coach,but he also lacked what it takes to be a quality NRL coach...
Barrett and Taylor both had playing qualities to compete at NRL level...it is a lot different to reverse the roles...Hassler,Belamy,Sheens etc were all capable players and made the transition to coaching..not all can...

Hes not playing 1st grade because he has 2 better wingers in front of him,yet Saab doesnt concur
When given his opportunity,I didnt see any hunger or comittment to anything tbh regardless of his supposedly natural athletism.It was invisible,and so was he
We dont have many NRL wingers,but at this stage with this attitude hes not for me unless some turnaround is evident in future games

Reynolds has been put in to play 5/8 because our club legend is fading slightly in his game...Reynolds had to play reggies while Benji kept getting selected,he is now getting game time and adapting to the new rules...
You reckon you know so much about the game but don't give credit to a bloke (JR) for at least having a go and giving what he can from the little game time he has had..
we know what simple is....

His Canberra game wasn't great ...even Geo owned that

I agree his Raiders game wasn't that good,but when he played the Cows his game was much improved,especially his running game,and it will only get better as the season progresses ...In my opinion he is playing his natural game with JR in the side,he is not being choked by Benji calling the shots and he has to get used to having Grub as his halves partner after having Benji there all the time...

Was Benji playing with Brooks when he was at dragon’s or the broncos, but I guess he was still holding him back even when he wasn’t at the club

Doesn't matter how much you want to sugar coat it,,,Benji stagnated Brooks game once he came back here...

He did but do you put that down to Benji or Lukes natural ability and being coached by Madge...

Cleary coached our team in 2018....

So Brooks win Dally M in 2018 under Cleary who is now coaching the Leaders of the comp this year...I thought Luke won 2019 Dally M under Madge who is a premiership winning coach....

But lets put it down to the brilliance of our 5/8 Benji who has defensive liabilities and is on the bench as we speak...

Brooks won in it in 2018. Somehow Cleary got Brooks and Benji working together well. Madge obviously can’t.

Cleary is a good coach, just underhanded in his behaviour

Their looking good and confident this year hoping they pick up some injuries.

Totally dislike them myself.

However, that's a pretty mean thing to say.
