Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Seriously we need forwards all the backs in the world wont help if we dont have the muscle up front

Who says we aren't getting more forwards? Our signings with the youngsters coming through (twal and eisenhuth) I reckon puts us ahead of where we are this year.

Our youngsters have shown plenty of promise but lets see how they go against a few top four sides, before we start putting the cheque book away. Players like Lewis even at 34 a players that win you grand finals

Surely that means Mitchell or Ferguson will be leaving.
I'd be over the moon if we got Latrell Mitchell.

1\. Tedesco
2\. Gordon
3\. Ferguson
4\. Mitchell
5\. Tupou

Wish we had a sombrero like that. I'd take an akubra!

Ferguson will be forced out the side by Joseph Manu .. Manu has playing centres most of the games this season. They won't let Manu go, he's young with plenty of potential ..on the other hand Ferguson 27 yrs old .. might find the harsh reality of "its time to move on buddy !!"

Should we offer him a "bus ticket" or not ??

Yes, one way (to us) no return.

Exactly

I agree we have large cap space and glaring deficiencies in the back row and prop depth. Cleary must have something up his sleeve. We still need a top class winger. I don't think Fonua is a good enough starting option and Ferguson is a machine. Terrible centre but great winger.
Rona would also be good but I wouldn't wait if we could get Ferguson.

How could Fonua be a good enough starting option for the Storm, yet not for us?

I know Jared WH is leaving easts, but they clearly should be over the cap. Yes they buy well, but they are clearly roarting the system. LIkewise Broncos, but they have such a strong club and Junior's situation they can buy up big.

We need a proper cap system and we need to fight for it. lets just keep calling out the roarters for what they are.

That can't be an excuse for our bad form though. Lets get competitive again.

Where is Jared going? We could use him. Instead of running over Woods as a tiger's player he play for us and run over Woods the bulldogs player

I heard he was heading to the knights.. the game broadcasters were talking about it. But I see nothing official yet, may be Matty Johns BS.

God Id sell a kidney to get JWH, but I think you might have your wires crossed and thinking of the other triple name from the roosters, SKD? He has gone to Knights.

Would a kidney sale be classified as a TPA?

Good question. He was effectively dumped for Korobiete in 2015 and only really cemented a starting role in 2014\. Why was Korobiete not good enough to start ahead of Keith Leilua. It's a spin out how bad we have been.

JWH is under contract until the end of 2020, not sure what you thought you heard.
Guerra is going from the Roosters to the Knights, and SKD has already done so.

You don't think Alex Twal and Matt Eisenhuth are good enough to be our back up props ?? Yes they are both young and roar .. but by crikey they both run good lines, they both make good yards after first contact, and they can both off load in a tackle. Being so young they will only get bigger and stronger after a full pre season with us.

8\. Matulino
9\. McIlwrick
10\. Packer
11\. McQueen
12\. Aloiai
13\. Taylor

14\. Twal
15\. Eisenhuth
16\. Sue
17\. C. Lawrence

We definately need another second rower looking at that, I really dont want Sue in the side next year.

Our stocks in the 2nd row are poor and as Bullfrog Moore always used to say "when you think you have enough props buy another one"Football is a game that is won in the pigs the backs just supply the points

i think u are sell fonua, a little short, i think he will prove to be a great buy. but where u are right is we need forwards, one prop and 2 back rowers would settle for one , but we need big brutes, or all these signings are for nothing.

You have to take a punt to get ahead.

This is where Nathan Brown and hopefully Ivan are good, Craig Bellamy is the expert. You look at a player that is borderline first grade at a borderline price, see what they are doing wrong and shape them. This is thrifty as we need to save our available cap.

Fonua matches this perfectly. Can perform at first grade, coming at a slightly cheaper price. Definitely potential, can make it at first grade. If we pick well, then we get a $200k winger for $120k. If we pick poorly we dump him and try again. We do this really badly we end up with a team of no hopers with potential and no performance. We do this good we get ourselves back into the top 8.

Lachlan Fitzgibbon (angry ant from Newcastle) is available for 2018+…good signing if we went for him?

The bloke is a penalty machine. Go over to the Knights forum, and you'll see that most over there don't rate him either.
