This salary-cap hit we took for offering Farah a job.....has there ever been a bigger punishment in our game for something that did not even eventuate?
And one might ask why it never eventuated considering we took a kick to the cods financially because of it.

It would not of happened with the current ceo and admin of nrl. Greenburg was hopeless

Penrith could field a 2nd team that would be stronger than half the NRL squads.
Hopefully the NRL HQ keeps an eye on their books in the near future, seems nobody wants to leave despite not getting a look-in for 1st grade. Doesn't add up IMO.

If Penrith release him he'll go to either us or the dogs. Right now, we're in the box seat.

any word on Staines?

He has a great junior rep history. Penrith seem very keen to retain him. Our recruitment guy has been attempting to sign him since he was 15. Huge missed opportunity to electrify our backline if we don't get him. JAC and Stains working together? We've seen what Papenhuyzen and JAC can do.

Does McQueen leaving now really do anything for our cap?


Yes.
Not that he was on big $$$ BUT his leaving frees up a spot in the squad - that we were lacking to bring someone else in.

Cannot replace McQueen for the few games left this year and he was gone on 30 October anyway, so likely a little pocket change for a month or two's salary and that's about it.

Would be if at least the $335k half of the fine from this year was available to be spent in the coming weeks to at least offset some of the impact it has had on our cap.

My concern on him is injury he didn’t last too long like to see more runs if the board be4 big $$

He’s a long way to go learning his skill in the backline. Not sure where he fits in. But definitely not a forward at this stage.
Defence technique need to be worked on and I think we would be looking at a ball playing lock but yea ... he’s not there .... not even close.

Played there for Australian Schoolboys - wasnt overly impressive there. Just give the kid time, this is his first full season playing on the wing. He will do well at centre.

No Talau?

I think Talau is on the radar ... and if he maintains his current form for couple of years of his contract and steers free of injury then he will be a good buy for us.
