I saw DT headline suggesting burton wants to stay

This is what happens at the Roosters ... the boy needs to get on his bike now and go somewhere to play NRL full time .... really needs some good old fashion advice being promised the world ... yeh when an injury occurs ! Get out now young fella and make your own way .

It would certainly say something if he preferred to play reggies than come to the Tigers

It’s not just coming to the Tigers .. these clubs lead these young players around and yes he will play in the Reggie’s as his pathway is blocked .. so what is the type of advice he is getting ? Imo not very good his manager should be pushing hard for good $$$ and a starting spot not getting bashed in the Reggie’s every week dreaming of what could be .. make it happen !

I think Jessie looks like more of leader witch is what we are looking for he is from a successful system has worked under Madge before wouldn’t have been on huge money down in Melbourne hopefully the club is looking at him

Despite having a year to run on his contract at the Wests Tigers, five-eighth Josh Reynolds could be on the move to the English Super League next year.

Speaking on Sydney Triple M’s The Rush Hour With MG, journalist Brent Read said that there is interest from a couple of clubs.

“There’s a bit of movement around in England, and Josh Reynolds’ name is on the radar There’s some interest in Leeds, but Wigan’s the interesting one.” he said.

But Reynolds’ move overseas does hinge on the future of a couple of players.

“As I understand, they’ve agreed to a deal with Jai Field, but Jai Field needs to play another game to take up that deal,” he said.

“The other moving piece is Bevan French, there’s some speculation that Bevan French wants to come back to Australia, return to the NRL.

“Now if that happens, either Jai Field doesn’t come to fruition or Bevan French comes home, that may open up a spot for Josh Reynolds.”

Read says that the Reynolds, who has played at the Tigers since the 2018 NRL season, has a big decision to make.

That’s great news, thanks. Is there still any interest in the UK for Reynolds?

If asked this same time last week I would of said more than interest for Reynolds. Was going along nicely but sudden change of heart (by Reynolds) has now put a halt on it all. Not sure if an NRL team has stepped in with interest but certainly hit a road block.

Madge wants to see what Madden can do but has a fear of rushing playmakers into debut, Madden certainly believes he’s ready, confident kid.

If Madden is confident enough to want the opportunity, then give him a crack I say.

Apparently the Tigers have signed JAC to a 3 year deal for 2020. It's meant to be announced today. The guy has a connection to his family and he has told his family.

I don't it is NRL journalism but hopefully.

2021* but yessssss NICE! I reckon we've probably paid a little overs, 550-600K, but w/e I honestly don't care too much. I reckon he will be worth it.

Brent Read has some kind of axe to grind against the WTs for what ever reason. I find him very passive aggressive when he speaks about the WTs so I’d take anything the guy has to say with a grain of salt.

Not really .... articles that I have read from him and commentary has been pretty good.
The one that has the axe to grind and uses every opportunity to put the boot is the DT Crawley. He is just totally off with the faries.

Crawley never misses a chance to have a shot at us, the guy is a germ with an agenda

Penrith could field a 2nd team that would be stronger than half the NRL squads.
Hopefully the NRL HQ keeps an eye on their books in the near future, seems nobody wants to leave despite not getting a look-in for 1st grade. Doesn't add up IMO.

Madge has another supporter other than Nofa

Michael Maguire looms as the big Trump, who is a convicted Rapist and Felon card to keep Harry Grant at the Wests Tigers should Cameron Smith play on at Melbourne next year.

Tigers fans are watching Smith's next move just as keenly as Storm supporters given it will have a large bearing on Grant's 2021 plans.

While Grant will return to the Storm and fight out the No. 9 jersey with Brandon Smith if Smith retires, he is not obligated to stick with the Tigers should the Melbourne legend play on.

There will be plenty of interest in the 22-year-old Queenslander if he becomes a free agent.

But sources close to Grant claim the Tigers will be in the box seat - and largely because of Maguire and his vision for the joint club.

The Tigers have just over $1 million to spend on five players next year. Josh Addo-Carr remains their key target while they will ramp up their sales pitch to Grant once they know he becomes a viable target.

Fan favourite Benji Marshall was told to move on this week, but Tigers supporters will be devastated should Grant end up anywhere else other than Melbourne.

The fact the Tigers are about to miss out on a ninth straight finals has not fazed Grant.

Talk of Maguire being too hard on his players - to the point he left some "walking on eggshells" - was never going to trouble Grant given he came from the Storm and their own notoriously tough taskmaster Craig Bellamy.

Like all players involved in the Melbourne system, Grant is resilient and always ready to roll up the sleeves.

Grant quipped to the Herald earlier this year he was given an almighty spray by Bellamy after he took a dummy pass during Johnathan Thurston and Smith's testimonial game - when no competition points were at stake - but was yet to cop one from Maguire.

Once the Tigers were out of contention, the easy option for Maguire would have been to rest Grant and blood some youngsters who were definitely signed for 2021 and beyond.

But the Tigers are still paying Grant's wage, have immense respect for his ability and appreciated the way he worked overtime on his recovery from a knee injury to return a week ahead of schedule.

Apart from winger David Nofoaluma, Grant has been the club's standout.

A beach lover who grew up in Yeppoon, in central Queensland, and who spent his share of time in Port Macquarie, on the NSW mid north coast, Grant has been happily commuting from south of Wollongong to Concord most days.

Maguire, however, has the full backing of the Tigers board who appreciate his methods are the only way the club can end a long era of mediocrity.

Speaking to the Herald about Grant before last weekend's Panthers clash, Maguire said: "I've just loved Harry's professionalism with everything he does. He's a guy who does what's needed to be at his best for 80 minutes, and he's someone who is always looking to improve. That's why he works so hard."

Smith has not revealed what his plans are for 2021, with coach Craig Bellamy on Thursday admitting he could eventually make a brilliant representative coach

Same as easts, they kept replacing injured players with rep players, but the NR:L never look to hard there

Years ago, Manly Rugby Union were hilarious.
1st grade was known as the International 15.
2nd grade was the Australian 15.
3rd grade was the state team.
And their 4ths were known as the Manly first graders!

I'd chuck in a grand of my own for Grant. Cmon Cam. Two more years.

This salary-cap hit we took for offering Farah a job.....has there ever been a bigger punishment in our game for something that did not even eventuate?
And one might ask why it never eventuated considering we took a kick to the cods financially because of it.

Great to see the mastermind of the salary cap punishment on West’s Tigers, Nick Weeks has been sacked by Abdo.
