The worst thing Weststigers could do right now is to get rid of too many experienced players in one hit, already shaping up as losing Lawrence, Reynolds, Packer, Marshall, Taylor, Chee-kam, Jennings and Mbye. I know an injection of class players like Tamou and JAC would be excellent but I'm worried a mass cleanout has a smell about it like what's happened with the Broncos, they culled heaps of experienced players and ended up like shot ducks. I would be happy with just Tamou as Captain and if we can retain Nofa and most of our team and still manage to get JAC then woohoo. Sign Madge long term. Ggrrrrrrr

I get that , but to me the leaders weren’t the older guys . To me this year it’s been garlic sauce , Benji mbye and nofa. Outside of Benji they’re all there next year , I don’t see the leadership vacuum.

I think it’s been said over and over again WE NEED EXPERIENCED FORWARDS LEADER ..... none you mentioned has tat requirement.

Huh ? I’m saying the losses are not in fact losses at all . I’m saying that any leadership that existed in the team did not come from any of the players released , outside of Taylor and Benji . We were hoping packer would provide the bridge between the old and new , of which he didn’t . Hopefully Tamou can do this .

bro Tamou is way better than Twal. He makes 150m a game and has only missed 6 tackles all season.

Twal a plodder

This is my least favourite take in the NRL ? throw Twal in Penriths team and his stats would be better than tamous are.... in fact Twal has put stats up like that plenty of times over the last two years.

He’s very one dimensional forward. Hard worker and plays long minutes but I was hoping that by now he would have further developed his game.
Never promotes the ball and well just solid but we need much more from him. Also he not a lock forward ever ever!

Everyone seemed to miss the pass he made against manly that set up one of our tries. He went right into the line and passed to Benji Which created an overlap. He’s got it in his game for sure.

There’s very little difference in locks/props in most teams nowadays anyway, the fact he can play long minutes makes him a good choice for the role

All good . I’m pro Tamou signing to finalise lol I think he and stefano are going to give us that oomph , if not a damaging Josh Papalii type . Which I think Mikalele can develop into .

You’ve always disliked Twally ? he’s one of the best work horses in the NRL let alone our team and can play long minutes, he’s a coaches dream player

Smashing people and knocking people over is great to watch but not every forward can do that. You need guys like him in your team and he’s one of the best and what he does. Mikaele should be the guy making big impact but he’s too hot and cold

The problem is not Twal, nor is it Eisenhuth, Garner, Taylor or a few others - the problem is we have too many guys who are skilled/have strengths in the same areas. The pack lacks a Fisher Harris, Warea Hargreaves type to mix it up. Hopefully Stefano or Blore can assist in this regard (not knowing exactly what signings we are making for 2021).

I think so too. We’ve got some great work horses, Aloiai is our only decent impact prop and he’s been struggling because he can’t do it all himself.

Stefano doesn’t strike me as that type of player however Blore hopefully nails down that right edge spot next season and can do that

I reckon Blore will. I think Garner's 1st grade days at WT are numbered...

Twal is anything but a plodder. Watch the Bunnies game again and he hit the ball up well. McIntyre was a plodder to many as well.

He made more post contact metres than anyone fought hard and found his front. Eisenhuth is a good work horse too but often gets dominated in tackles and put on his back, Twal finds his front most of the time.

Eisenhuth will get a Guernsey elsewhere because every team needs a reliable 80min worker.

Delusional ?
I’d say it’s the other way round .

Eiso gets man handled all the time, big tall and skinny and not a kilo of muscle on him. He’s an easy target for big aggressive forwards to tackle. Twal cops a whack too but he finds his front

Our first try against Penrith was exactly the same off a Twal out ball to Marshall.

Yea , but neither are the guys leaving . If what your saying is even close to true , then the power vacuum exists right now . In this case , losing older guys , who are perceived to be leaders is a good thing . Hopefully the younger guys will fill the vacuum as needed

Absolutely.

Why do we keep on losing close game or games we're expected to win? Because we have no on field leaders to lead us to victory, and generally our opponents are bigger, stronger, faster and more aggressive than we are

We can only hope that Blore and Stefano can become the leaders we sorely lack
