How much is Justin Pascoe on

Which Justin Pascoe?
This one's one $1.5m
https://www.investmentmagazine.com.au/2017/02/super-fund-pay-survey-2017-making-money-earning-scrutiny/

lol, my brother's name is on that list. Might have to hit him up for a loan.

If he's on that list, he can afford to send a bit to everyone on the forum

His name is, he isn't though lol

People on this forum really don’t let stuff go.... not everyone is Adam Blair or Rob Jennings.

I’m not even sure who would he considered a good player lol you have to be in a crap team and perform good to count as good I think 😂

i wouldn't mind an anonymous top 25 that's published by each club. we don't know who's paid what but the media outlets will go into a frenzy trying to decipher who's who. that would be fun

That would be fun, can you imagine the thread on here?

It’s fairly simple

JAC is an elite player who will instantly improve any team he goes too

Graham is an average player who won’t improve a team like ours one tiny bit, I would honestly prefer Momirovski to him. He is the exact player we need to steer clear of

Clearly JAC is better but Graham is a good player in his own right. Tall, fast, can score a try and a good defender. He would be an upgrade on our centres that’s for sure but irrelevant cause I don’t think we’ll even sign him at all

Will knowing players salaries help

Everything that will attract players for the wrong reasons will be off the books and we will never see it unless it is reported by a player / player manager/ club employee

So is Suali worth the hype?? At 17 I would think he would be to much of a risk. Thoughts? I'm thinking if we miss out on Jac this might be a possibility.

Until they’ve played first grade it’s impossible to tell

Ive heard before that the name and logo is protected. But is there a way the board can update the logo? It's so early 2000's

Would love to see some a bit more simple/classic and most importantly confident and know who we are.

South and Roosters have got it right.

The club do you 2 alternative logos on merch and promos which look good:
- ones the existing logo with the claws removed and placed in a shield
- the other is a WT in a shield

Sorry i know logos shouldnt be in this thread, but presentation of the club is important in attracting players
Plus it's fairly quiet on the signings....

Whats the point in blaming anyone everyday, week and year especially if they aren’t here or we can’t do anything about the current situation.

At the end of the day the players are contracted for another year or 2. Unless someone comes along and wants them it will stay that way.

The bigger issue is how do we turn around our image over the next 2yrs to become a destination club.

COE development no doubt will help, gun youngsters & results will change the perception but at the end of the day it will come down to cash & 3rd/4th party deals.

Panthers, Bulldogs, Eels, Roosters, Souths and even Manly can offer more money on/off the park than us.

We are one of the top supported club but struggling to recruit is a massive blight on our mgmt to have cashcows will to fund player deals.

Genuine question ....how do 3rd/4th party details work? Are they outside the salary cap? is there any limit to the amount that a coach/player can earn through these deals? How do we know how much each club offers in 3rd/4th party deals?

If the third party has any link to the club there is an overall club limit under the cap. If there is link between the third party and the club, it’s unlimited

I think you meant "if there is NO link .....it's unlimited"? That's a worry. Thanks for explaining.

Why is that a worry?

Because of accountability, equity and fairness. That's why it's a worry. You're ok with rich "external" benefactors being the determining factor in a player signing with a particular club?

What's the point of a salary cap if the ultimate composition of a team is determined by how much a player can receive in 3rd/4th party deals??

Because 3rd party deals are between the player and the 3rd party..Are you saying Musashi and Gatorade wouldn't provide Cameron Munster a deal to promote their products if he didn't play for the Storm..?

I'm saying that those deals need to be regulated and have a proportional limit of the total value of the player's contract that those deals attract.

I can't wait to see an NRL player promote Buxom Bella's Therapy Services of Leumeah as part of their 3rd/4th party deal!!!

They have to be registered with the NRL and approved..

And, is there some way that we, the punters, would know exactly how much a player is paid, both within the salary cap and from external sponsors?

Not just a total, but a breakdown of all sources of income that constitute their annual payments as a professional NRL player? Does that exist?

Is your wage published anywhere?

Public servants levels of pay are...teachers, police are...and it is the absolute norm for all comps featuring salary caps abroad...

https://www.basketball-reference.com/contracts/players.html

Personally, I feel it should be published in a salary cap controlled sport.

Fans deserve the right to know what impact a player will have on their future expectations. For example, if Tamou is coming here for 350 a year it is a great deal. If he is coming for 550 a year, it is an entirely different debate. Fans, ultimately, fund sport and everywhere else that is acknowledged.

I'm a teacher, I know that my salary is publicly available. Difference is it is a set wage and not in a salary competitive environment. I am a fan of the NFL and published salaries makes negotiations harder for clubs as players use previous players contracts as a measuring stick.

Could of guessed you were a teacher - real world - whats that?

Lol Campbell Graham

The Robert Jennings comparison is bang on, he’s a seriously ordinary player in a very good team. If he was with us we’d all be wanting him dumped

Nope, Jennings is overweight and slower than a wet weekend playing on the wing.

CG is a young, tall lean, fast centre

They’re worlds apart

My nephew has played with the kid. Freak of nature best prospect since Inglis. Hed be a better fullback than FOX by the age of 18.

the noises coming out of Redfern were that this kid spent a preseason with the top side and held his own at 16 years old to the point where Souths were asking for an exemption to allow him to play first grade 12 months later. while he's being offered ridiculous amounts of money, there's a reason for that. if we manage to get him he will eventually become the biggest signing wests tigers have ever made. I still don't think we'll end up with him, but where there's smoke there's fire.

Compare his stats this year with Jarrod Croker, Josh Morris and Joey Manu, as good or better. Those are all classy centres. Souths backline is singing and he is in it. Talau had a few average games and one or two good games.

Where there's a choice, players would rather choose to play at a club that has pride and is cool.

There's been plenty of discussion of the lack of identity WT has both in media and on the forum.

Obviously there's plenty of work that needs to be done to address that, but the most visible form of a clubs identity is the logo.

Early in Crowes tenure at Souths they updated the logo to just the rabbit by itself. It shows the history, but is really cool. The black rabbit is now worn for home games to celebrate the indeginous connection of the club.

Just in the last 12 month's Latrell and Johnson have signed for less than we offered. ADC might do the same. Why? Because the club is standing for something more than just a flashy logo and flashy cash.

I’ve been saying for years WT has an identity crisis. Not the old Balmain/Wests one, that’s done and dusted. For me it’s the lack of a home ground advantage and a geographical heartland. I’m from Wollongong so I don’t care where we decide on but a decision has to be made.
