until Smith makes a call on his future, everything Harry says is a PR exercise. I do think Smith is done, but until there's a statement saying otherwise we have a glimmer of hope.

I’m not convinced he is. If he is, why hasn’t he announced it? Why is he always coy? I think it’s because he’s in the middle of negotiating another year. Players like him don’t announce their retirement in November or December

well in that case we better have a long term deal for Harry Grant on the table.

I think we should make a very attractive offer to Tedesco before Roosters resign him. Something along the lines of Latrells offer, 5 years or more. The fact the Roosters are looking at Suali should raise concern of Teddys long term future. Cant hurt?

I think we should all just calm down a little .. I don't expect the Tigers to sign anyone of note for the next season, what Madge is doing is trying to prepare the Tigers for a season or 2 down the track. A lot of younger talent in our lower ranks and Madge is going after the junior super stars from other clubs.

A season or two of pain using the current old stock players and younger guys coming through, and then we will see a team full of youthful players with a reasonable amount of NRL experience ready to shine for the Tigers.

What's that old saying .. "no pain .. no gain .. !!" So we just have to take the pain for a season or two and then plan will work out .. I like another old time saying in .. "pain let's you know that you are still alive .. !!" So don't worry we (the Tigers) are still alive folks .. !! ;-)

We’ve taken the pain for 9 seasons.

So let's do some really stupid things now that are totally counterproductive in the long term because it makes sooky fans feel better between now and the start of actual games, when we'll be mediocre again.

The only way this club is getting out of the mess is a ground-up improvement, not making a couple of flashy signings and assuming that'll put everything right. It might take years, and yes the wasted decade is embarrassing. But it's not going to get fixed by taking the money from all the dud contracts we've given out and immediately throwing it at whoever happens to be on the market at the time.

I mean, three of the last four grand finalists used the model we should be adopting: junior development and identifying talent that isn't valued elsewhere. None of the Panthers, Storm or Raiders got where they got by making big-money signings of "proven stars". It's not the way a club like the Tigers is going to get successful, either.

Harry will be in Melbourne regardless of Smith imo. Too much stock is being put into this clause. If it was a club that was on the edge of the 8 he’d probably activate it. Different when it’s the best club in the modern era winning premierships. He might be happy to play second fiddle if it means winning a grand final. He’s going to be the Qld hooker, it’s not like there isn’t going to be a spot for him and he’ll be languishing in reserve grade

It just doesn't seem realistic. When a seasoned player has tasted plenty of success in a professional structure, I don't even think money can bring them to a team like WT until we get many more runs on the board, like ongoing finals appearances and not fluky one-offs.

I reckon it will be
Reimis Smith to Storm
Mansour or Naden to dogs
Roberts to Newcastle
JAC to Souths

I don’t mean to have a go, but you sound like one of those supporters on Facebook who have little understanding about the game whenever you post anything. Never seen a poster who goes against the grain so often on this forum who isn’t trolling. Like where the hell does Naden or Mansour to the Dogs come from?

Well it is rude mate really, just because I bring a different point is not always a bad thing. It was just my thoughts on what I had heard.
I should start having a go at all your posts then mate

I suggested this months ago and got shot down. Yet the same people who shot me down still think Harry will stay after he’s confirmed over and over that he’s going back to the Storm

With Tedesco, I’d withdraw the offer to JAC and off Teddy 1.5 million, a position on the board, stakes in the club, anything it took to bring him back. Won’t happen, but it doesn’t hurt to dream.

We will not get tedesco unfortunately I wish we could though.
Why can't we load up the big offer for Grant make it hard for him to take a melbourne offer.

Because he’s contracted for 2 more years. How many times does it need to be said.

Good move. He can try to squeeze a contract extension out of us blaming the performance on the terrible roster that he (sort of) inherited.

We seem to have a 12 year plan.

Yep right on the money. Unfortunately 2021 is going to be more of the same. I think WT know this hence looking to extend Madge a season (2022) when its much more his team without the crap (those expensive, unproductive and surplus to requirement).

It does concern me though that marquee players only look at us to raise their pay packet elsewhere. We could have the whole cap at our disposal but if players don't want in at WT, what's the use of it.

We just need one big fish. A Mitchell, a JAC, a Grant, a B.Smith, someone.
Just one and hopefully that belief in the public eyes that we're an undesirable location will change.

Lachlan Lewis, Christian Crichton, Braiden Burns. We are more likely to get guppies.

Don't pay overs or get into bidding wars with players like Nofo Liddle Talau etc good players but don't pay overs. If they want to stay at the club great but get then for the right price and manage the cap so we can have a go at players like Grant and Munster etc game changing players

If they’re going to extend his contract, it should be done now for one year. No point buying into this long term plan and then we do crap next season which likely leads to his sacking and then will be back to day dot

What’s the obsession with Grant? There are plenty of other players who are available a lot sooner. And dare I mention the fact we are covered in that area, Grant is by no means a must have us.
