Well everyone is blowing their load over signing a bunch of 17 year olds they've never seen play.

That is a little disparaging of the Camroux and McIntyre. There are quite a few supporters who take an interest in the progression of our juniors and young players. Camroux is one of our own very good juniors. McIntyre was one of the few shining lights in comparison to much more highly paid players in our squad such as Leilua, J, Mbye, Packer and Reynolds.

I have never seen Camroux play but I wonder if there would be as much angst if his name was Jones. The club nearly let him go once before and his dad got him back.

He's a good young player. Apparently not ours anymore.

Mcintyre will be a miss, I can't see us bringing in a better quality of player, for the money that Sam would of been on. Considering we have limited cap space, we still need to add a fair few bodies to the squad.

Do you know how much the Titans offered?

This is not about names etc its about the process of retaining our Junior talent. Mcintyre some say a fringe 1st grader but we all saw enough that he deserved a roster spot.
When we are meeting a player that has been at 4 clubs and known to have mental health issues and not sorting out his contract as a priority you have to wonder??????

As supporters we should also be passionate about retaining our Juniors, panthers have and they will now be a force in the next few years because of it.

That is a mindlessly simple argument set up only to bash management. By extension our Harold Matthews squad should be our NRL first grade squad in 5 years. It’s ridiculous. Some juniors will be let go, some retained, some poached by other clubs for more money than we valued them at, and we will poach others juniors for more money than their clubs valued them at (Stef, AJ, those two brothers).

My previous post that you quoted literally started with “I’ve never seen Camroux play”. Obviously he is a good player but what is his price?

I am very disappointed that we lost McIntyre. I would have loved to have held him but not at any price.

As supporters we do not really know and have no control over who club management is planning to sign or boot out. The signings and suggestions thread have over 4000 pages and yet how many of the signing and suggestions in this thread came to fruition. Only a very, very small percentage.

I’d say that’s optimistic - each to their own.

Never seen cameroux so to me he’s just a 16 yr old with that dreaded potential tag.

Mcintrye is a bench player at best for a few years, not use throwing money etc at him. He’s certainly not on a pedestal. Not like his debut year was like Rudolph’s.

I would imagine Adam Hartigan and Madge would be the ones making the calls on recruitment and retention as Adam is the general manger of football
I hope Pascoe had nothing to do with this side of things he is great at the off field side of things so hopefully he concentrates on that

I believe the Club struggle to find a replacement for McIntyre. That is what I will be concerned about.

Do Panthers not lose any juniors either? Where's Laurie rumoured to be going? Where's Blore?

Pickings are slim player wise

So our best option would be juniors

Fair enough. In response to your post then, no, 'we' are not worried about losing a 16 yr old and a fringie.
A couple are.

You do know that you can negotiate with multiple players at once, the negoitations with Sam have been going on for a while now.

I hope so, we should be able to promote a second row forward from our juniors.
