McIntyre is way better than Seyfarth, way better. I can’t believe they couldn’t see the potential in McIntyre and have just let him go! They will probably let Aloiai walk as well. We can’t afford to lose good forwards like this, our pack is weak enough as it is! There had better be something positive coming our way soon.

This really irks me. The clubs spends 2-3 years on a development pathway, he gets to the point he is selected in first grade, shows good promise and development, and then we let him walk for what is likely less than $50k difference.

I understand we aren’t going to keep all the development contracts, but keep the good ones for gosh sake. We let McIntyre go and keep Seyfarth who has shown nothing with his opportunity and by reports appears to have an attitude problem. Extremely frustrated.

McIntyre's a park footballer at best. Can't tackle and avoids taking hit ups like the ball is covered in spiders. If you can't identify Seyfarth's talent then may god have mercy on your soul. Rugby League may not be the sport for you champ.

There's a reason why Seyfarth hasn't been re-signed and money has nothing to do with it.

attitude problem willow ?

Crichton just needs at Mansour, its a short career doesn't matter how loyal you are.

He is a game breaker and should be paid.

This is what Tigers need to be outlining when pitching to him. And the two of them are great mates as well so throw into the negotiations a fair 2year(+1 club option) contract for Mansour will be made if Crichton is to sign. I know many aren't keen on Mansour, and neither am I really, but he would still make our starting team and if it means snagging Crichton he would be worth it.

I wouldn’t rule out Packer getting an extra year. It’s a contract year, and I think he’ll try and rip heads off in 2021. Reynolds is done.

I would bet my left nut that Packer doesn't get an extended contract.
I don't think any other NRL club will sign him either, so it's off the the office for him.

I would also bet your left nut.

Is he too tall for Brooksies passes?

I know we've had this problem in the past

Nope, not FG quality.

He’s at WT pre-season, so it looks like he will be re-signed.

I forgot to mention the return of Momirovski and Jacob Liddle having a full pre season. Top 4 for sure this season.

Top 4's a bit conservative. We will be premiers.

Judging by the comments of certain posters from certain threads it sure seems that there’s a massive lack of respect and professionalism in our contract negotitations. We seem somehwat cocky and arrogant yet players feel alienated and disrespected.
We are not the roosters or storm. We can’t offload one player if they get greedy and have our pick of players to replace them. We are the least deisrable club in the comp. We have immense issues selling ourselves to players. If we delvier players harsh ultimatums we have to be extremely confident we could sign better players for the same money. Given we have to pay 10-20% more than other clubs to have any chance we can’t be so cavalier with retention.

You don't know any of that to be true / verified. Where did 10-20% over pay come from?

Also least desirable? Based on what?

Are you delusional or just ignorant?

We are the ONLY NRL club that is unable to sign an elite player. Dogs, Titans, Knights have been regularly performing worse than us yet they sign several origin players, titans obviously with their recent raids and even the Dogs could sign Cotric. Yes they overpaid players but it kick starts their rebuild. We're still in our 9th consecutive year of rebuilding and are still tipped to get the spoon next year.

We continue to offer what a player is deemed worth, often the same salaries as every other club would offer. Considering we're the least successful club in the comp and have a poor culture we HAVE to offer more to entice anyone of note to join us. In the past 12 months alone we missed out on Lomax, Brimson, CHN, Cotric, Sami, Arrow, Jac, Mitchell to name a few that we know of. All players in Origin or rep squads.

Do i have intricate details of our contractual dealings? No. I go off the crumbs the rest of us do. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to draw a fairly obvious conclusion.

I strongly disgree with this. You don't spend your way out of failure, it just never works. You have to build from the base with strong young talent and be patient. You can add quality players if the base is good and they can lift you to elite level. Signing Cotric on that money is a huge waste. I don't want the club putting massive money on above average wingers. I think JAC was a game changer and therefore worth it, but I don't envy the Bulldogs at all.

Off to the Sharkies apparently.

Yeah gone to the sharpies ....
Couldn’t even sign the ultimate plodder .

So we are at the 16th Nov (16 days after deadline) and we have landed Nothing.... Correct nothing.. We have lost another in Sam M, Aloiai situation doesn't sound good either. I remember the days leading up to Nov 1 thinking it was going to be a great week ahead for signings / re signings for 2021 and 2022 but once again disappointing.
I know there is a lot of reason for this, we have tried but the end of the day it is a business and we need to get results.. I still think once we can get the first big name player over the line the pressure would be off and others will follow. we cannot blame the salary cap as we would be talking to players for 2022 as well and that is after we have lost Packer / Reynolds money off our cap..
I know people are reluctant to over spend on players due the Ivan's brilliant buying :face_with_thermometer: but I think we need to just make it happen for the 1st one. Not sure who that should be but would trust Madge on this one... we cannot keep offering low money for top players and crossing fingers that they come as they won't.. We need to face the facts we are NOT attractive to players until we start winning or we pay overs....

We have a lot of top junior talent coming through but they need Experienced players to teach and develop them to get to the next level.

I don't know the answer but as fans who keep buying memberships, Merchandise, Game day tickets, etc... WE DESERVE better and no finals for 10 years

I have full faith in Madge and the commitment he has shown us and back him long term here. He has cleared out a lot of dead wood..

Just my thoughts but would love to see us announcing a player signing soon for round 4
