In regard to Nofoaluma

He is a passionate first grade footballer who does give 100 percent each week.
But there has to a limit to what you offer a player who still has flaws in his game, The board need to look around at other wingers Of his quality to find out what he is worth and if he doesn’t believe what we offer him to be enough than that’s All they can do.

What's the (almost) leading try scorer in the NFL worth?

That would be Derrick Henry from Tennessee Titans. 3rd for total touchdowns last year. Earns $12.5 million per year.

18 of those tries he just had to fall over the try line after Ingis set him up.

Yeah, okay, typo but you still got your smart retort wrong.

Lol, I genuinely thought you meant NFL (thought you were being cheeky). If we’re talking NRL wingers traditionally that’s the lowest paid position right? Couldn’t be thinking more than 550k right?

I reckon he's earned that though, don;t you think? All you want from a player is 100% commitment and he definitely gives that.

Am I right in thinking the Garner for Sironen swap is being forced by Tigers as part of the Aloiai release to Manly, and that Manly may cover the extra $$ that Sironen would be earning than Garner?

Maybe; Garner is a Voldemort signing, correct?

I am wondering if Madge doesn't entirely rate Garner? He played him Round 1 both 2019 and 2020, so clearly Garner was high enough in his esteem at one point (or at least one of the better players we had), but the potential of a trade with Manly has been mooted for a while.

Well I’ve been saying for some time now that playing Garner and Lucy in starting side just does not click with me..... and I see Garner as the weak link. He does have an upside in attack but those runs have been too few and far between for him to be considered a regular high end first grader.

On the other hand Sironen has improved considerably since joining Manly. Few injuries have held him back but for me he would be a great acquisition for us and definite improvement.

WOW. Get these 2 over the line and the pack is looking very strong.

I’d love him back, but it’s a pipe dream. He’s a latte sipper for life. The one that’s realistic would be Woods coming back and retiring as a Tiger. That could happen. But given how far he’s regressed and his disgraceful act of throwing the club under the bus as captain, I wouldn’t want him back. Unforgivable.

Players come and players go so in that respect I have no beef with Woods. But, as club captain, if he actually was agitating against us behind the scenes, as has been rumoured, then he can stay with the tadpoles

Wasn’t behind the scenes, it was out in the open. He dogged the club in that interview with Hooper when he announced he was leaving

I would say he was trying to be honest and telling his side of the story without "dogging" the club.

From Michael Carayannis at DT.

Wests Tigers player of the year David Nofoaluma may have to consider putting himself onto the open market after receiving a contract offer from the club this week.

Nofoaluma has made it clear his first preference is to remain at the Tigers but the 26-year-old concedes he will now open himself up to speak with rival clubs.

“I obviously love the Wests Tigers and the fans, you can tell by my passion.” Nofoaluma said. “But in reality, I am heading into what could potentially be my last contract.

“I am going to explore all my options and weigh up what’s the best decision for myself and more importantly my future. I know with whatever decision I make, I can say I’ve given one hundred per cent every time I have stepped foot on the field for this club.”

Nofoaluma is coming off the best season of his career. Most pundits thought he was unlucky to miss out on the NSW Origin squad and he was easily the Tigers most consistent player scoring 17 tries in 20 games. Nofoaluma is officially a free agent with his current deal expiring at the end of next year. The Tigers tabled a three year deal to him this week

The Campbelltown product has been a rare shining light for the Tigers and is one of the club’s favoured sons given the recent departures of Robbie Farah, Chris Lawrence and Benji Marshall.

“There is no rush but I have my manager (Sam Ayoub) taking care of everything.” Nofoaluma said. “It would be extremely tough to leave but at the moment I have one more year remaining on my current contract and I will respect that. I’m back at training next week. I’ve really missed it and so I’m looking forward to ripping back into it with the boys and doing what I love.

“My contract situation will look after itself.”

Barring injury Nofoaluma should become the greatest Wests Tigers tryscorer next year. He sits 10 short of Marshall and Lawrence having scored 74 tries from 139 matches.

The potential loss of Nofoaluma would be a cruel blow to the Tigers given the public fallout between the club and prop Josh Alolai who is still inching towards a move to Manly.

Surely we can’t lose Nofa. Probably just trying to bump his price up a little - which means we shouldn’t even bother with him according to some people on here ?

I'm in the extreme minority here but I wouldn't be too upset if he left.

If we make a sensible offer and he walks I am OK with that. We are going to be littered with outside backs into the coming years.

Expecting if Roberts fires and BJ doesn't start hot he will probably get cut loose at the end of 2021.

The biggest disappointment for me if Nofo signs with another club is we could have secured JAC by releasing Nofo to the Storm this year.
Sliding doors moment.

Assuming Nofo wanted to move to Melbourne.
The club wouldn’t have been able to just say player a go to Melbourne. We don’t have a nba style system here and players have an actual say in the decisions.

Statements like this are pointless.

A swap would be a bit funny. Garner is a manly junior and Sironen a tigers junior. Both would go back to their original clubs 😂

Amazing how the NRL CEO and Chairman come out of the woodwork when Roosters want something changed.

Meanwhile, we have a meeting in a few weeks after the Aloiai situation has played out.
