I know how much everyone loved the last rumour started from Instagram so I thought I’ll throw in another one ?

Kitione Kautoga (one of the young fellas) commented on a photo of Blore, saying ‘@shawnblore or Edene?’ Maybe Edene Gebbie has been hanging around training after all on a train and trial deal

Also yes I know I have no life, I just somehow noticed it ?

Gebbie is still in the highlands of PNG but yes the plan is to offer a train and trial..which may then convert to a development contract..

The development contract is dependent on them signing him to it before the NRL reduce the number from 6 to 4. It is possible if we miss that he could be upgraded to a top 30 spot after his train and trial contract.

I guess 2 spots remain which the don't have to fill..

Is it until August we have to fill the last 2 spots? Or were they allowed to remain open?

Unless something happened today, we have 3 spots open don't we? Our list shows 28 but that includes Daine Laurie for next year?

28 with the assumption Seyfarth has been re-signed ..yet to be made official..

What’s everyone’s opinion on age limits for FG ? Some young kids these days are as big as full grown men might not have the mentality and stuff though, but curious to know peoples thoughts on it?

I don't think there muscle and bone development is anywhere near being ready.

In the old days, they used to say the forwards didn't hit there peak until there late 20's? Can you imagine the damage that Russel Packer could do to a kid with a full blown hit? he probably wouldn't come back.

So u think like 20-23ish? I’m unsure what the limit is now I’m assuming it’s 18? U look at players like Chris Lawrence and Freddy Fittler I think they wer 17 and they seemed to do ok I guess it sort of depends the position abit but on an average u think around 20-23ish? I think it’s good how they have it as u said there body’s haven’t fully developed but god there’s some big boys getting around in under 20s and stuff ay. I shouldn’t have wrote young kids, I meant like 17-20

Look to me players are so much more advanced in fitness and strength, I don't really know what would be a good age and would think you are probably right, they will want to play and earn the money, but under 20's really are still kids, backs are probably safer because Russel couldn't catch some of these young quick guns :joy:

If the NRL thinks there isn't a massive recreational drug problem throughout the sport in general then they're kidding themselves. In particular Columbian marching dust as a player can have a few nose beers and it's gone from the system within a few days.

Not just an nrl issue, societal issue. You won’t find many people out there that haven’t dabbled in stuff like that these days

Went to end of season drinks last year only to realise I must have been living under a rock. Later in the day we had strippers at a shed. One young bloke asked if he could do a line off girls bum and then they quite a few followed. Got the impression that it was the norm out on the town. I’ve got a 15 yr old definitely made me have a good old chat.

Sounds like a good time.

If I remember correctly Packer and Cleary were friends but fell out after Cleary moved from Wests Tigers to Penrith.

Well I’m one who can say I’ve never dabbled in any illegal substance and proud of it

All good mate if that’s what you put value on. But I’m one that has dabbled plenty and not ashamed of it in the slightest.

For me there’s something to the old “you only live once”’ adage. I have countless memories of some of the funnest and most priceless nights of my life.

But I’ve been lucky enough to not let it get on top of me and always managed to balance things.

Sounds like the perfect time to bury the hatchet and renew their friendship. We should do the right thing and release Russ to Ivan. I think Josh Reynolds would look wonderful in a panthers jersey too.
