I mentioned a while ago that this option would be great for WT, as long as Laurie comes as part of the package....

Im not certain Laurie needs to be part of the " deal" tbh...Im uncertain hes gonna be ready for NRL in 2021,and just like Stefano last season, it wont do any harm to have someone else paying for him in the coming season knowing hes ours from 2022.
Play Mansour on his merits alone ...and if we miss out on him,it aint the end of the world by any means.

We offered two years and got rejected, interested to see what happens. A bigger club like Souths has a lot more appeal than us

It has nothing to do with being 'bigger'...he would be looking at it in terms of what will happen in year 3 of a deal.

Penrith have told him Stains will start...thus they are not an option long term.

We have AJ, Talau, Hoffman who will all be FG ready (soon, hopefully) but certainly by year 3.

Souths have a vet team who will compete for the comp the next few years and have just lost a few of their best young prospects. I.e. there is a fairly defined roll for a vet winger a few years there.

Souths aren’t offering three years. I’d say at both clubs Mansour has the same shot of playing wing at both clubs, probably a better chance of playing more first grade with us. They’ve got Johnston and Paulo who’ve done well.

My point is I wonder if he will accept two years at Souths after rejecting it with us because they’re a much bigger chance of a premiership and success.

I doubt it as easy to come here from PNG with covid the way it is.He will undoubtedly be a late starter

I don’t have much confidence in mbye either. Fullback is the position im most worried about heading into this season

I would have him under high balls every single day of this pre season. As you said the other aspects he does well, just the issue under the high ball he needs to work on.

AJ was signed as a winger, centre, fullback I don’t know if he has played fullback at senior level or not, but he “could” be an option for game 1 if Mbye is at #6 with Doueihi unavailable.

It’s only right that our highest paid player should play Fullback. I think the Fullback has become the most important position on the park. He’s the guy who pulls off the big plays, either in goal defensively or offensively, or instructing players to fill defensive gaps.

Is he even in the country yet? Not sure a month or 2 of preseason will be enough considering he hasn't played for quite a while. He definitely wouldn't be ready for round 1
