Souths forum reporting they’ve offered Mansour 2 years, 2nd in their favour.

I mentioned a while ago that this option would be great for WT, as long as Laurie comes as part of the package....

Im not certain Laurie needs to be part of the " deal" tbh...Im uncertain hes gonna be ready for NRL in 2021,and just like Stefano last season, it wont do any harm to have someone else paying for him in the coming season knowing hes ours from 2022.
Play Mansour on his merits alone ...and if we miss out on him,it aint the end of the world by any means.

The problem with not getting Laurie is we only have Mbye who can play fullback. If he gets injured we’re completely screwed.

Unfortunately it Douhi again....next question is who plays 6.
Despite all the applause on our recruitment for next season,our spine is both unproven and lacking backup options.It will hurt us big time in 2021 one way or another

If he’s playing well at 6 it will destabilise the team to move him back to 1. We need to get Laurie or another fullback before round 1. Without a backup we’re setting ourselves up for failure.

We are desperate for a fullback. Atm we have Mbye who to be fair if he plays his absolute best and catches bombs can be pretty good. I just don't have though any confidence in Mbye taking bombs and being on the park and firing over the course of the season.

Fullback is his best position if he gets rid of the errors under the high ball.

Unfortunately that’s pretty important for a fullback ? keen to see how he goes though

He does everything else pretty well. Maybe he’s doing some catching practise out of the trees like happy

I would have him under high balls every single day of this pre season. As you said the other aspects he does well, just the issue under the high ball he needs to work on.

Agree, the collision is where I believe he falls down, he doesn't want to compete. The tap down seems to be the go-to for a lot of teams nowadays, whether attack or end of a set. We can help our our "catcher" by the Centres/wingers need to held more **accountable** to get themselves behind the ball/fullback or blocking opponents legally "while the ball is in the air" and not jog waiting for the second hit up. More importantly. our dummy halves need to continually "all game" pressure opposition kickers. We need someone to stand up, E Taylor was the perfect example. it's all about the little 1%.

Some over inflated expectations on Gebbie IMO.

The guy barely speaks English and is still learning the game at 25. He’s got pace and power but very raw.

IMO best case scenario is he becomes a possible wing option towards the end of the year. The longer he’s not on Australia training the worse his chances are. Couldn’t imagine him organising a defensive line at fullback.

If Kepoas eye problem ,now fixed was the reason for poor catching,maybe he's the option.He it tall and fast,which is needed at the back.Any thoughts ?

I like him as a player but I think it's too much pressure to play him there so early in his career. Still he is probably 2nd option. I hope he is training in that position. Nofo is probably another option as well. I think Kepaoa has more potential there than Nofo does but Nofo at this stage is probably better under the high ball.

If in fact we do get momirovski, yous should make a play for meaney. He won't have a first grade spot in our squad soon enough.
Yous would get him pretty cheap, is quick and has looked good at fullback. Dean pay shouldn't of changed him to the wing. Looked like he was starting to find his feet before he was moved to the wing.

If we didnt have that moron JT coaching at the time i doubt he would have been playing reggies and all to keep Rankin in first grade

Taylor was completely obsessed with Rankin's pre-season training and kept him in first grade all season.

Taylor was an absolute idiot

Taylor and I. Clearly defiantly kept us out of finals contention and pushed us back a couple of years with their decision in signing and letting players go

Taylor gets a bad wrap. It's unwarranted in some regards.
He had our attack going great but the team had uncoachable egos.
You had Moses dogging matches, you had Simona fixing them and Robbie's attitude and we only just missed the 8.
Difficult job and not everyone is perfect.

That is true, at present clubs are allowed to have up to 6 development contracts, that is being reduced to 3 very soon for season 2021. We are already at that limit but anyone we put onto a development contract before that gets announced will be allowed to remain on a development contract for 21. That was the plan for Gebbie and I would expect that his delay in getting here could potentially be impacted by that.

In saying that I am not the biggest fan of development contract anyway as they guarantee a top 30 spot at the completion of the contract.
