Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Moylan on 0.7m better value than Teddy on 1.05m

That said, I think we need to be patient. Players will come on the market.

Who do you guys want Ivan to fill the last two spots with. I would want him to fill it up with Moylan and a development player or a re-signing. ( please be realistic on this discussion).

Maybe this should go in the signings suggestions thread..Oh look it did..

Ivan was asked about JMK and Moylan in the press conference and said we haven't finished yet but said most clubs are sitting back as a lot of players are coming on the market.

Yep and he seems to like moylan. Good kid words used.

Cleary was definitely coy about Moylan when they asked him directly - did not hose it down when given the opportunity.

Moylan is a smart footballer and we could always use that type of player at the club. As long as Rona is on the bus, Moylan would be a good addition (plus a Aust Schools player as a development player).

Sounds good to me.

I thought Rona had missed the bus. Is there still a chance for him? Was there ever anything other than a like on a social media page that linked him to us?

Moylan might be alright if he wants to play reggies.

No spot for him in FG at the moment.

He'd be the first one picked Russell. He's a better fullback than Tui (even though I like Tui) and a better 5/8 than Reynolds.

Tui will be given the first shot at fullback.

Nah no spot for a guy who is better then Lolohea, Reynolds and Brooks combined.

In your opinion ?????

Not in mine - the guy is a dope, a disruption to teams, not well liked it would seem so…

basically IMO another Moses and Hayne type.

I'm hoping to see Dugan,Moylan and Fifita team up at Northies in the Shire. Flanagan will have his hands full. Would have been good if Barba and Furgo joined them as well.

If there are 2 spots left and enough cash, Moylan and Josh Jackson/ Adam Elliot depending how desperate the Dogs are with their cap problems.

PENRITH PANTHERS CAPTAIN MATT MOYLAN TO TAKE TIME AWAY FROM NRL TO ADDRESS PERSONAL ISSUES
CHRISTIAN NICOLUSSI, The Daily Telegraph
Monday 4th September 2017
12:10pm
MATT Moylan will take time away from the game to address some personal issues after meeting with Penrith officials this morning.

Moylan was expected to inform the club whether he wanted to remain at the foot of the mountains and see out his lucrative deal until the end of 2021, or become a free agent.

Despite speculation that the 26-year-old is unhappy at the foot of the mountains, Moylan does not want to go anywhere, and has the Panthers’ full support to address some issues away from the field.

Moylan was expected to return from an ongoing hamstring injury in time for Saturday’s do-or-die final against Manly on Saturday, but that will not happen.

Panthers boss Phil Gould confirmed Moylan would take “some time away from the game to deal with some personal issues”.

“We held a long discussion with Matt and his manager this morning,” Gould said in a statement.
“As a result of this meeting we can confirm Matt is 100 per cent committed to his future at the Panthers and we are 100 per cent committed to Matt.

“We see Matt as a valuable asset to our club and hope he has a long and successful future as a Panther.

“In the short term we are giving Matt some time away from the game to deal with some personal issues and we hope that people will respect his privacy.

“It’s disappointing that this has made its way to the media and from this point on there will be no further comment from the club, Matt or his management.

“We look forward to seeing Matt re-join the group as soon as possible.”

With Moylan out, Tyrone May will likely continue in the halves alongside young gun Nathan Cleary while hooker Peter Wallace will continue to captain the side.

Agreed.

We should hold our powder till next year. We don't know what team we have, if it will be our centers, our forwards, our halves or wings that let us down.

Lets wait, see our team play a few games and then go hunting for who we need. Not blow our cap before game one and realise we have a big weakness.

that won't be enough to stop anyone nibbling away, making offers, feeding journo and unstableing your club Gus.
We've been through it. Your turn. I'll never forgot Gus's comments re Tedesco. Let the Tigers develop him…..
let the white anting and mind games begin.

Same, Hope other clubs do the same for Moylan and Nathan Cleary.
