I agree with everyone saying NOT to let momo go! Don’t give Penrith anything! We will no doubt use momo this upcoming season
Laurie will see game time this year ,Caleb Akins is gone,Edwards is injury prone and Laurie is their only other genuine fullback option.Another year with their squad will be good for him. Mbye will do for this season.
Maybe I’m just used to mediocrity😂 but momo is a very handy player to have in a squad.laurie is still untested, potential top line player but too early to say.

Penrith can't use Laurie before round 16 unless they decide to upgrade him from their development squad.

Penrith can't use Laurie until round 16 and they have Staines and Crichton who can cover fullback, so doubt he sees any game time really. We will use Laurie if he's here more than we will use Momers I reckon

So it seems S.Crichton is likely to agree to panthers terms and slot into fullback leaving a space in centre for momo if he can get his release. If it’s the case they have absolutely no need for Laurie as they will have edwards as a back up fullback and may and burton as back up halves. Only my guess but it seems to make a lot of sense, and to be paying big money for Crichton ud expect he will be wearing the number 1 on his back

Crichton will play centres at Penrith, they like Edwards

I forgot about staines ,fair point
I still don’t think we should let a proven first grader go.
I see it happening but

Time to be realistic. We have built up nicely in the all important engine room.Size, experience, talent and a lot of potential, some say we need a lock but otherwise all good. Our backline will rely on Lulu to lift his game and JTH to perform in the centres,or they are gone.We have Brooks at 1/2 who some don't like, but not many halves better on the market.Laurie looks good and should fix no 1 . At 5/8 we have Doeihie who played a half a game in top grade and was ok without being outstanding in other positions. Most sides would only carry a couple of ordinary players,we have a lot.TT yet to excell,Momo,Doeihie,Mbye all in the same boat.If any want to leave, i would help them.If we aim to be a good side,we need the best we can afford ,these are not anywhere near that level,

I see it happening but

Sounds like they rate Laurie highly so tigers must be keen

Why can’t mbye want out? Momo is 10x the player yet can’t get a spot

I think that Madge would love Mbye to go the problem there are no one else wants him..

I'm a fan of Momo but I think a straight swap with Laurie is a win.
Yes we get Laurie next year regardless, but a write of year and we get 2 things from getting him for 21.
1. Is he as good as we hear, can he put up a full year in first grade. If not we can look for a fullback for 22 with our warchest. If we don't have him this year we bank on him for 22.
2. It gives him a write off year to build combos with what will probably be the spine for 22 and beyond, when we need to make our moves for a title

Win win in my books

I'm sure the Tigers want him gone,it's probably all about how much we will subsidise his contract.I would drop him to CC to give him a promt, though i expect him to show more effort this year or his value as a player will be very low when his contract expires.

Roberts and BJ, at their best, could be the most lethal centre pairing in the NRL. But either one of them is the type to wind up suspended for 6 weeks at the drop of a hat. It would be a great shame to not have Momo as a reliable back up.

I really like momo feel he is underrated but he is 3rd maybe 4th in our centre rotation. Jtj and bj are far better players. People forget the work bj does out of our own half. Both are a little bit rocks and diamonds but if both fire we are truly deadly.
With all the wraps on talau you would assume he is infront of momo as well.
I would like to see him get first grade time as he has played second fiddle for a while. Give him his release for compensation let the kid go get a starting sppt somewhere

This will be worked out. Penrith need a cost effective, experienced and reliable centre. We need our fullback.

i agree i wouldnt read too much into Madge saying you're not going anywhere, if it gets us a player we want and need versus a player that is purely depth albeit good depth i think the trade will be done. Interestingly i didnt know momo was a player option after this year that makes it more likely he's out the door one way or another.

The thing is Roberts and Leilua are no sure things. I wouldn't be rushing to let him go.

BJ had a well below Par 2020 and Im desperatly Jet finds his mojo.

Back ups at TommyT and AJ who will do ok in due course

Didn’t someone say Penrith said Crichton will get first crack at the fullback spot? I could be soo wrong lol but I thought someone said he would and rumour was Edwards wasn’t happy or something. Could be a similar story to the mystery prop though aha

We have only a small chance of Crichton and Staggs signing for 2022.There will be otherquality players on the market.Any chance we get at cleaning out our roster should be taken.Storm,Easts and the top sides continually update their rosters, and clear the dead wood.Fans and even coaches get attached to players, that is why good clubs have recruitment staff that do not rely on emotion but on value for money and planning 3yrs ahead. We are slowly getting there.

If Crichton is in the centres then the other centre position would be fought out between, Naden, Whare and Momo (if released), not to mention any other up and coming juniors the Panthers have waiting to make their NRL debut. Momo would still be down the pecking order at the Panthers, so maybe he is viewing the Bulldogs as his best option to play on a regular basis in the NRL.

Could be perceived as a good sign that the Jet is looking good at training, the way I see it Momo is backing himself to be picked over Naden and indicating the Jet has his spot at WT.
