I’ll give you that about JL, but not JTJ. That they don’t say that about Momo is because he’s only 19 games in. Please, 5 clubs don’t ask you to leave if you’re any good.

Going in for JTJ
Early 3 clubs, Souths, Panthers and Gold Coast kicked him to the curb.

Then he changed.

Brisbane and Souths wanted him. Wayne Bennett took him at Souths and he would be hard OUT if Wayne did not want him. You just have Dane Gagai, Campbell Graham and Jed Cartright pushing for spots.

Madge isn't a softie. JTJ is at Origin level. He will perform well if he doesn't get injured.

Titans never actually booted him, pretty sure they faked his signature on a contract and then he left. More to do with them than with him.

tbh I think his pec injury played a big part in his latest depature, he was finally making strides then he injuries himself, so it's essentially 1 step forward 3 steps back.

Just as an aside , has anyone noticed how poorly a lot of clubs have recruited . It’s the Titans at number 1 for me , and then honestly us at number 2 , followed by the dogs and warriors , then it’s crickets to anyone else . It’s surprised me how little some clubs did to improve , especially the ones at the bottom.
I think the sharks , dragons , cowboys , are in for long years . They have definitely gone backwards . Also sneaky gone backwards ..... the panthers ! They’ve lost Tetevano and Tamou . Both big metre eaters for them , and they’re hoping Eiso picks up the slack apparently . I know they have stars , but that’s some holes to fill.

The changes in the Tigers squad has been sizeable. Looking back a couple of years ago when the club signed promising juniors from other clubs like Jake Simpkin and Jock Madden then continued to build on this with Blore, Utoikamanu , AJ ect you could tell a real change had started. The signings this offseason has just amplified that and I don’t think the recruitment department are done yet.
**Gains**
Tukimihia Simpkins
James Tamou
James Roberts
Joe Ofahengaue
Stefano Utoikamanu

**Losses**
Kane Bradley
Chris McQueen
Dylan Smith
Josh Aloiai

Matt Eisenhuth
Robert Jennings
Sam McIntyre

Plus older players off contract or retired giving opportunities to younger players that have been in the Tigers system makes for a large overhaul of our squad.

Wests Tigers:
Adam Doueihi, 65.0%
2020 form: Adam Doueihi 16/24, 66.7%. Moses Mbye 29/45, 64.4%. Jock Madden N/A. Paul Momirovski N/A (75% in 2019, 21/28)

The Tigers had the third-worst goal-kicking record of any club in 2020 and there's not much in their recruitment to suggest a significant uptick in 2021. Doueihi and Mbye each get roughly two out of three shots across their careers. Momirovski kicked at 75% in 2019 but is no guarantee of a spot. Youngster Jock Madden has kicked at junior level but needs to force his way into the side to be an option.

Yes losing the front row that took them to the GF is a big blow, not to mention losing a good up and comer like Hetherington also! I know they still have the likes of Fisher-Harris, Yeo & Kikau in their pack, but it’s still a big loss for them up front, especially if they are relying on Eiso to fill that void! 😳Despite what many people think, I believe they will miss Mansour also, he’s been the heart and soul of the club for a long time and he always put in.

Fisher-Harris and Yeo had great a season In 2020.
Kikau was hit and miss with a lot of errors in his game. If they move him to the middle to cover the loss of Tamou he want be as effective.

Would meaney even be willing to swap for what would have to be a pretty short contract as a backup most likely?

I think Momo has a better chance of playing centre over there and Meaney has a better chance of playing fullback here.

I'm a little disappointed Momo doesn't back himself to fight for a spot in first grade here. Bookies would have a short price on BJ getting suspended or Jimmy having personal issues sometime this season.

I agree, every player knows (or should know) that their position isn’t guaranteed. Moma obviously sees the contest as a bridge too far?

Mate, you see the irony here. All those that want Momo gone, based on a single newspaper article and a forum contributor who thought he looked upset at training, are condoning exactly the same behaviour from Diane Laurie, our saviour. JL was public enemy No 1 last season, JTJ has been punted by 5 different clubs, TT hasn’t shown anything near what his raps indicate and Momo is a try scorer and goal kicker with experience at 2 premiership winning clubs. We have always had good attacking structures throughout our history , but recently , it’s this quality which we have lacked .
Joey , has been told to have a long hard look in the mirror of which he has responded . Jimmy has had a horrendous childhood full of sexual abuse , and abandonment. Yes we arch footy . But we clearly watch a lot closer than you do. Quoting tries and goal kicks .

So what you’re trying to tell me is your two first choice centres have been told to have a long hard look at themselves or find something cathartic, but a bloke who scores 14 tries in 19 games doesn’t rate.

Lol you can spin it anyway you want , but if I’m a coach , and I’ve got a guy in my team who I can throw a cutout ball to, and know he can do an in and away and score an 80m try , I want hat bloke in my team . Or if I can put a bloke in my team who one on one , is near on unstoppable, yea I want that guy in my team.

I don’t care what you give me . You’ve got no idea . It’s obvious with every word you say . If you would you’d understand how out of touch you are , with the reasons why JTJ can be anything , and the reasons why he sabotaged himself previously . If your not 16 year old school kid , I feel sorry for you .

Haha haha. So magically, JTJ at 26 is going to transform into the messiah because you read something somewhere in a comic book. Give yourself an uppercut.

What ? Wow ! You absolutely suck at this human game . Maybe you should try something else . The guy has had some serious stuff to get through , and you sound like you have no idea , how a guy with those kind of issues can be toxic to himself and others . It’s with admitting the issue, seeking help , and finding people around you who care that you can truely try to heal , and become most importantly a good person you can be proud of . .
This is why I support him , as , he sounds like the kind of guy I want to back . And he’s a talented footballer who leaves plodders like momo in his dust .

Agreed mate, I am always happy to support someone who owns their mistakes. He has always seemed to this and doesn't hide from his issues or mistakes. When he needs help he usually puts his hand up and seeks that support.

I just think it shows maturity , to even admit this stuff . Let alone go on a podcast and lay it out for all to see . I know a lot of blokes , who have experiences like his , and , many , just can’t help themselves from themselves . It’s the ones who are open about it , and try to have conversations , that seem to be the most ok. But even then , the pit of despair is only around the corner , and can open up at any time .
And for this I Applaud the guy , and hope he can show for himself what he can do. And if that helps some poor kid , going through that stuff right now , or another coming through , especially a young indigenous boy/girl , well how good is that . ?

Spot on mate, I suffer from mental health issues related to experiences growing up. I know how hard it is to talk about an I really admire Roberts honesty and openness. He has his relapses but is always willing to work on his issues and seeks out assistance. At times I wish I could be as strong as he is.

Me too mate . I have huge aggression issues, because of it , which made me good for footy and fighting , but not so much in the real world . I know blokes who have killed themselves , others who can’t stop sleeping around , because how low they really think of themselves , others who are celibate because of how horrid they are to deal with in relationships .
Mental health issues everywhere . Pretty disgusting when some imbecile on here , makes a mockery of the bloke just to win an argument .
No respect for people like that to be honest . If I could van him I would .which is surprising because I’m never an advocate for that .

I know you’re talking about me but I never made a mockery of him and I hold you to account for saying that. I said he needs to prove himself as a footballer due to his history and I stand by that. As a bloke I never doubted him and it’s children like you that perpetuate these issues, spreading innuendo and making false claims. Grow up.

Seriously dude , you have issues .

What, because I called you out? Read my posts you phoney. Have I ever doubted Jimmy’s integrity as a man? No. You’ve got the issues Pygmy.

So you didn’t say I was making up superhero stories , when I mentioned his issues ? You’re the joke mate . Stick to one , opinion , you chop and change , and now because you look like an absolute pig of a human you’re trying to walk it back .Can we get rid of this guy ? Seriously ?

Don't bother with him. He's on here looking for arguments

Reminds me of Walter Sobchak.

People are overreacting over BJ in my opinion. Yes he has brain explosions a couple of times a season, but he’s got more talent than the majority of our backline.

He’s in a contract year, so his career depends on his ability to do the job.

I’d be more concerned about JTJ going off the rails.

I think Bj will be ok,he will be the first centre picked,Yes he needs to perform this year to earn a decent contract for the next,he also saw how well little bro Luci did last year and sibling rivalry will be a part of his motivation.

I agree. His defense can be terrible and he has some brain explosions but he offers a lot.

Anyone know if Laurie is a goal kicker?

Asking for a friend.. 😀

ADs strike rate at the end of the year was pretty good . His percentage was brought down by his abysmal start . I’d say as the year went on he became more comfortable , and I’d also argue that his strike Nd purchase of the ball are pretty awesome.

If memory recalls properly Doueihi had a leg muscle injury which hampered his kicking in 2020?

Yea that as well apparently . Do people remember momo missing from in front to lose us a game ? Or did I imagine that ?

Yes recall against the Bulldogs.
We should never had been in that position to kick a goal to Tie the game on fulltime, also leading at the break, Bulldogs were bottom of ladder again attitude thought we only had to show up to Win.

see match stats below Momo he also scored 2 tries....

HALF TIME WESTS TIGERS 8 - 0 BULLDOGS

I’m merely using this as an example that he isn’t the goal kicking messiah , and in fact his on field skill is probably a more apt way of assessing his talent . That’s all.

Well you should not state for losing the game, his overall stats were quite good and he did perform, just making my point but all good.

Agree Goal kicking in recent seasons have cost us playing finals might again this year unless % improve.

Madge not keen on moving him on and i tend to agree if other don't perform he will be playing 1st grade and he needs to realize that this club gives him more opportunity with those who are in front of him.

Do these people even watch football?

LOL , are you serious ? The issue with the tigers is a lack of dynamic players , who can break a deadlock , and change the outcome of a game . Or simply finish off a half break from a distance . This is what people are talking about .
We have always had good attacking structures throughout our history , but recently , it’s this quality which we have lacked .
Joey , has been told to have a long hard look in the mirror of which he has responded . Jimmy has had a horrendous childhood full of sexual abuse , and abandonment. And only recently in the last year , has he started to open up , and try and find something cathartic, in a really messed up story . Talau who is the next drop , is a sought after impact centre , who could be anything .
And then There’s Kei . One of the most talked about juniors I’ve seen on here , who many good judges think is going to be a star.

What do you think it’s a coincidence that every single winger to play outside Joey has high teens in the try scoring department ?
Just by him being there , created space for players if you know how to use him.
Momo does not do that . With momo you slide onto to him, hold your ground , and wait for the block play to unveil itself , as you can trust your probably going to make that tackle .
This is my knowledge of rugby league .
That the guy who sets up the try , a lot of the time isn’t even the guy who touches ball . With guys like BJ and JTJ you have to respect and acknowledge them , because they can absolutely destroy you , if you don’t . Who’s ever said that about MOMO?

I’ll give you that about JL, but not JTJ. That they don’t say that about Momo is because he’s only 19 games in. Please, 5 clubs don’t ask you to leave if you’re any good.
