Pauli Pauli was good a couple of years ago. Not sure what happened to him at the Knights .

Apart from the car accident I honestly don't ever think he was that good. Big yes, an emerging young talent yes, but Parra let him go to Knights for a reason. He ended up not fit enough, too slow in defence, error-prone, not enough attacking output.

i agree

he was never good. he is massive but incredibly soft. i was glad we missed him when it was reportedly between us and the knights

The telegraph ran a story on Thursday saying Latrell Mitchell was looking for an upgrade from the Roosters he's only on $400K next year they will probably let Ferguson and Gordan go and probably a few more as well when allowed we should fire in an offer to put pressure on the Roosters salary sombrero he would be a good pick up as long as we dont let him kick off.

Oh Yeah! he was sensational against the Cows. Apart from plucking the ball out of the air when no one else was contesting it, what else did he do?

Kicked out on the full twice, gave away a penalty, couldn't halt Feldt and let him score, missed a few other tackles and didn't get in and roll his sleeves up. Good game Latrell.

Has a big head, real attitude problem and thinks the world owes him a living. Probably the only player in the NRL similar to Moses.

Don't need him. OMG we don't need him. We just got rid of one.

Talented, but he is a kid with real attitude and got a lot of grub in him

I agree, that tenacity will either make a superstar out of him or earn him a bad reputation. That being said, Thurston was a knob when he was young and Mitchell is only 20 years old. Plenty of time left to grow up.

Watching him play the other night all I could see was him being over the top grub. Following a player for 15 metres after they made an error, trying to get in everyone's face. He has to earn that opportunity. You can see he has talent but he's ego will stop him reaching any great heights

He's a tosser, fits in well at the Roosters.

Dont mind a bit of grubbin the field especially from the young blokes because as sure as hell they cop plenty. Off the field I hear he is a very quiet and respectful young man.

He tore us apart this year.

Intersting appears a sticking point in the CBA negoitiations…

NRL CHANGES ON THE NOSE
According to the Player's Association the new NRL’s pathway program is flawed and they are not happy with the new system that will block the pathway of promising players.
Under the NRL’s new rules, the likes of Nick Cotric would not have made his first grade debut this season. Nor the likes of Anthony Milford and Nathan Cleary in years past.
In 2018 NRL clubs will have a squad of 30 players to pick from with 6 'development players' who will be ineligible to play first grade.

The former 'second tier' as it was know will be non-existent which means a crucial pathway to the top grade has been effectively blocked by the NRL's new rules.
This will mean that the likes of Kyle Flanagan of the Sharks will be ineligible to debut in the top grade come 2018.

It also hurts clubs like North Queensland who use their relationship with Townsville as a carrot to bring quality players into the Blackhawks’ system with the opportunity of picking up a deal with the Cowboys. That carrot is non-existent under the new rules.
Several club chief executives are also rallying to have this changed. It seems the NRL have yet again managed to upset both the clubs and players, yet again.

I believe we are only running with 4 development players...none will see FG....along with scraping the 2nd tier Cap....

So was Les Boyd

Interesting. 6 development players are not compulsory. A lot of clubs use more than 30 players, what happens when players are unavailable? Does this mean that all clubs may be forced to field a Cory Patterson type in the backline?

Nothing wrong with Patterson.

The new rules are absurd. Promising young players that develop quickly and earn a shot at first grade shouldn't be held back. We don't want hundreds of 18 year olds running around, but there isn't. Most aren't ready. The Cleary's, Cotric's, Brooks' K Hunt's etc should be able to play if their form warrants it over more experienced options.

Also what happens when clubs have an injury crisis? It's not uncommon at all for clubs outside the 8 to be using 30-35 players in a season. Sometimes even 40 players. Which second tier cap do these players come from?
