Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

teddy23 - I agree with your points. I reckon Mansour is great but do we need him ? I think our squad is good and we need to target players for the spine and possibly gun forwards.

In some ways it's a good idea to sign players up now for short term contracts because we may perform next year. Our spine of Tui, Reynolds, Brooks and Liddle looks weak but I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of them turn into quality NRL players.

Even in the backrow we have options now. The lock which is close to a prop forward position is well covered. For edge backrowers we have Marsters, Aloiai, Lawrence, ET, McQueen and potentially another player will kick on.

I agree, I think our spine is the weakest in the competition…. they may kick on but I think we shouldn't be trusting on potential like we have on previous years.

For the 2 remaining spots, I'd be very happy with a RTS and a young forward with plenty of potential on a min contract - Kapow, Twal type.

Lolohea would be a solid utilitiy off the bench, can cover 1-7 and would bring a bit of speed and X factor in the dying stages of the match!

1\. RTS
6\. Reynolds
7\. Brooks
9\. Liddle

14\. Lolohea

Looks a lot better

If rumours are true, i hope Clearys relationship with Mansour gets him over the line.

Man, Imagine a wing combo of Mansour/Nofoaluma.

Would we even need a forward pack? Hahha

Probably not Mansour and Nofa earn a penalty every second hit up. Not a chance Penrith release him. If so Roosters will sign him.

Is there anything remotely concrete about RTS?
It would be very exciting for the club.

He flew over Leichhardt via Campbelltown…..once..

Nope, nothing linking us to him. Some talk he was thinking about switching to the All Blacks but nothing that seemed credible.

It was a Matty Johns rumour linking him to us apparently but, nothing aside from that. I wouldn't be getting my hopes up.

So basically you are saying the spine is ok except for Lolohea. I disagree if that is ok.

Are you disagreeing at the fact that our spine is stronger when RTS is in it over Lolohea??? cause that's my point, I'm not saying we're gonna sign him but if it did happen it certainly looks stronger that's for sure.

Here we go again…RTS and Mansour would walk straight into our team ...no matter who we have now and be our best players..

but nah we don't need em..gebus..

One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest

I'd still like to see how Nofa would handle the 1 jersey personally

Played fullback coming through the lower grades. Can't hurt to give him a crack at it

Doesn't have the legs to go a full year as FB..will always have issues with his knee..

Fonua and Nofoaluma will certainly bring the ball back with vigour and power out of dummy half…

With Matulino and Packer added to the pack maybe Cleary wants to bash through teams...may not work but gee..it will make a nice change...fun to watch..

I didn't hear about Nofa losing a leg :bawling

Surely he's not a top 5 winger based on that fact and we are definitely paying overs

Noffa would be a disaster at the back. Cant defuse bombs, cant tackle. Hed run the ball back hard but that would be it.

Nofa is a great winger leave him where he is. His defence came good at the end of last year also.

Tui or Kev are our only options. anyone not wanting RTS or Mansour is mad. They won’t come to WT but why do people on here seriously overate our players to the extent that they are better than Australian or NZ internationals.

Agreed.

I think Lolohea will work out well for us. Other then him I really don't see another NR1 and even Lolohea is a halfway between 1 and 5/8.

Yes, Marshall, Kev, MWZ, etc can kind of play at 1\. But kind of play means loose tries… Maybe not too big an issue if we can train one of the new guys, perhaps Cory Thomson to play FB.

I did not realise but we seem to have a bulge of wingers.

Lets wait and see. We should only recruit a very good Fullback or Prop from now on in.

Bus doors are closing.

At first glance, you think Kev will be a pure depth player, but when you see how much he improved throughout the year, why isn't he in with a chance. Interestingly, his best games came when he was filling in for Tedesco.
