I see Hines has secured a $1.8m, 3 year deal with the Sharks?

He looks a good prospect, but I don’t think we would of entertained that sort of cash? What’s his best position?

Played U20's for Manly as a 5/8, played his juniors as a 5/8. Only recently in last couple of seasons has played a little FB since he joined Sunshine Coast Falcons in 2019.

Then he doesn’t cover the positions we really want/need, he would have known that as well? Besides the fact we probably in a low ball offer?

Can always use good players, but not at any price, especially if they are not specialised in the those positions that we are after, imo.

Confident, we will get them eventually.

As far as I'm aware Tigers didn't go anywhere near him as FB is locked in by Laurie and Doueihi considered the long term 6. I guess the only real possibility would have been Hynes at 6 however with AD, Madden and Hastings as options and Mbye not yet released it would have made little sense to throw in a 5th option.

How much more fiddling around do we need to do with the spine. We’ve brought in AD and Laurie in in the last 2 years, and have Hastings on the way, plus Madden floating around. It’s about time we focus on other areas. So much talk about Hynes on the forum the last two months and we never even spoke to him.

Why? The rabbit logo on their jersey is black…

Does every little sentence need to be “race checked” in case someone is imaginative enough to twist that sentence into something it’s not?

In this day and age yes you need to be careful what and how you say things, if a player from an opposition team referred to a Souffs indigenous player as a black rabbit and it came through the microphone what repercussion do you think there would be

At the right price he's a good forward imo. I know he acted like a fool when he left but we could use him for sure.

So after checking on the Zero Tackle site for “players off contract 2021”, I reckon we should be targeting the following available players for our 2022 roster:
Centre- Seb Kris
Wing - Gagai, Garrick, Tupuo
Lock- Finucane
Second Row- A Crichton, Su’a

Throw in B Smith, Isaako and TPJ, as options, (if there is any real opportunity for any of them).

Whilst looking at these guys, we should also re-sign both Seyfarth and Mikaele asap. Leaves us 4-5 spots to try for any of the above players - I say throw whatever we can at getting any of this list.

Who we should be chasing is the guys in line to replace Tupou, Finucane etc.

The way he left us was totally INDECENT,dragging the big 4 to the Dogs and being dishonest in his dealings with as well
...brought the club to its knees(along with his manager)from which were still recovering
Personally,I wouldnt have him back if he was FREE
Besides,his best is behind him and weve got lots of young blokes who will leapfrog himover the next 12 months

I think it would be a backwards step, he dumped on the club when he left, and has gone backwards imo.
I don’t think the club would entertain it, but we have done strange things before.

I think wing is not a position that we need to go hard for anyone for. It should be capped at 600k for the 2 best in the game, possibly, but a serviceable winger who is safe and does their job will be sufficient. Sadly, we don't even have one of those for the second wing spot atm. I think that we could overcapitalise if we go too hard in that position and should rather put that money and effort elsewhere for greater return on investment. A Corey Thompson type in hindsight would stop gap us for now, obviously that ship has sailed. Let's look to the centres or a second strike edge.

I think we should wait a bit longer to see how Roberts continues to go on the wing. If he can regularly replicate last week's form I'd be happy to keep him on the wing next season (especially given his pretty low salary).

And he can slot into the centres if need be,especilly if injuries hit us...he would do a job if fed plenty of ball...

Woods still bends the line, forwards or backwards, and doesn’t miss many tackles. I still like him, even though his former manager is an imbecile. He was one of our greats and I’d take him back any time. Go Woodsy!

In today's world it's unfortunate that it has come to this
I agree with you 100%
But others wouldn't
There shouldn't be a back lash for using the work Black when depicting a group of footballers some of who may be dark skinned themselves
Or an individual or group of people who may be native to our land or others for that matter
And speaking of the word matter
Who came up with the words "Black lives matter"
It seems ok to use the term "black" in this case, although it depicts the colour of one's skin
I have been called "a white @%$/"
It did not bother me
But that came from the mother or two children that broke into my car
And I caught them
So that was the name I was given

Sure there are some nasty people out there that abuse people because of colour or race
Those people are usually un educated
But we don't all have a hidden motive

You're all very hard on Woods.
These blokes don't think for themselves . They're told what to think by their managers.
If he wanted to come back I wouldn't have him because he's not very good.
