Putting aces in the right places is critical to the COE being a success ....we haven't been real successful in the past of doing this

i think there is no doubt it will help in developing young talent. Whether we can keep that young talent once developed is another question.

The money he is looking for he would need to be a state of origin level player, is he going to be at that level in 3 to 4 years? He is still in the mix but I am not sure he wants to be here either.

We just need that first domino to fall and others will follow. If we look at Signing a player like finucane, even if the overs are perceived to be too much, we need to realise the effect on the whole picture. That extra money/year might be the answer to getting the ball rolling and might not be the big deal as an individual transaction.

The player you break the bank on and play overs for needs to be a player that transforms the club, someone that makes the players around them better. Is Finucane that player? Probably not.

We must be watching different games. He has a good passing game and is passionate, but is a slow as a wet week and his defence is terrible.

I would rate him on par as Momorovski as a centre, but costing twice as much.

I disagree. I think that Nofo is the same player he has always been. Great hit-ups. Can finish a try. Poor defensively.

I think if the team starts performing Nofo will be just as good as he has been in the past. I also don't see him as anywhere near a top winger in the comp. We overpaid with too long a contract but I don't see it as a club killer. It's not in Mbye, Reynolds or Packer realm or even close to it.

He runs sideways too much these days and his defence is so bad he shouldn’t be in first grade. In fact his defence is an embarrassment.

If the club is going after Siro its a good idea. We need blokes who want to wear our jersey. Our jersey needs players who respect and honour it, who feel privileged to put it on, arent just doing it for a paycheck. We need to get blokes who want to play for the club. Put some pride back in the jersey. Last week was pathetic. Bring both Sironen's back if you have to.

While I agree with the disbelief of us not even attempting to go for someone like for Brandon Smith (as I felt the similarly with Fifita or Tino), I can't see how Hartigan can be knocked with regards for not securing better backs. He can't be blamed for losing out on them.
The reason we ended up with the likes of Maumalo or Roberts etc., was because we were unable to get players like Lomax, Latrell, JAC and Alex Johnston over the line. The quality of those players and how they are in the comp tells me our statistician guy - that @cochise mentioned - and Hartigan are getting the job done.
We'd look a complete different outfit if we landed two of those players.
