Did anyone Cath the press conference interesting viewing

Gist?

Mate it end up being a job interview

He come out swinging at the start labeling the first half garbage saying the players are boys not men.

Then reed asked if he feels job safe and then Madge went into his been strap by salary cap and has done a lot of work in junior space due to bad cap and looking to complement that now but cautious not to get the cap screwed again.

They specifically asked about dale and he didn’t say no but said the above.

We had plenty of money under the cap, **but no one wants to come.**

To solve that we sign rejects from other clubs on big money like BJ, Joe O, Doueihi, Maumalo. How is that working out?

What sickens me most is some of our players - at times - look like they don't even wanna be there.
From my observations there's probably only a handful that show any pride in themselves, who help their teammates and try their hearts out.
It's very disheartening to see.
Idk what's wrong with this club!! It's any wonder we're sitting ducks for journalists, when it sends a strong message that we find it acceptable to have disinterested and uncommited players often selected in and representing our team.

Agree with the comments re😀oueihi, time to put him back at five-eighth and even make him captain. Despite any deficiencies, he's always looked to be our most encouraging leader.

Very insightful Lauren. Think the problem is twofold.

1. We have very few players that are from our system. It ain’t a fluke that Brooks, Douhei, Liddell , Seyfarth and Nofo are the only players that show any passion for our jersey. All of these have mistakes in them but at least they show a level of pride. The only player outside with fearless passion is Laurie
2. The game has changed quickly the past 2 years and what is required now to be successful isn’t what was needed in 2014. It’s no good having a big forward pack if you don’t have the capability in the backs to defend our many errors or pose any threat other than kicks and the occasional intercept. Look at today , last week, the week before …we were gone in 20 mins so it didn’t matter what effort the forwards put in cause they know as soon as the opposing team spreads it wide we are screwed. How demoralizing Compounded by that is we don’t have forwards mobile enough who have the fitness or desire to cover the backs misreads , the only exception I have seen is Seyfarth. Watch Storm , Panthers , Eagles and you will see they are continuosly covering from the inside . Why don’t we do that when it only requires fitness, extra effort or pride ?

How long are we stuck with Maumalo ? To think I was absolutely crucified on here when we signed him and how’s he gone so far ? Still runs like he did with the warriors. Bugger all intent and as slow as anything.

God I hope Maguire is gone by the bye round. Wont stand for another paper over cracks win against the broncos in round 18 but after today, they’ll probably beat us

Maumalo is a good specialist winger. I’ve been watching him for years and he’s been close to the best winger in the competition at times. His firm dropped this year The entire Tigers team is underperforming it’s hard for a winger to shine. Give the bloke a chance he will come good. Solid player for 350k a season.

He sucks. Not one warriors fan was sad to see the back of him

Obviously some sort of personal thing. We have holes everywhere and Ken is a long way from our biggest recruitment issues.

What happened to his good carries out of our half male no meters now

The fact that someone like Sheens who has had no involvement in the NRL in a decade is the one running an eye over the club shows that the club has no idea & that chairman Lee is just a rich fan with way too much power.

Still a good move regardless

Disagree. the fact that him and Farah are floating around are a sign of us trying to cling to 2005. Conveniently ignores the fact that both were key players in the mediocrity that follows.

This is my signing suggestion for the club, it’s free. Go out any get two second rowers who absolutely harass opposition halves.

If you watch the tries we concede they are usually off a backline shift where a half or five eight goes deep into the line then calmly passes it to an overlap out wide. Watch Souths tries today. Luci and Garner are there but they don’t put pressure on or even touch the playmaker after he passes. They should be trying to break their ribs. This happens on all but one of their tries and some of the disallowed ones. It’s actually a simple fix.

I’ll leave that to the experts with access to all the footage. But ours aren’t up to it.

Even just go for blokes who will hit someone late. I’d rather give away penalties than soft tries.

Spot on. Look at what Sims did to Townsend .. legitimate hit and he was a passenger for the rest of the game ..even thought they lead by 6 when they lead by 8 cause in pain and attempted a field goal that missed and opened the door for Dragons. Ultimately cost them the game. Does anyone think QLD wont do same to slimey in O3 ?

Just a thought..I wonder what impact Badger has had this year..we are far less aggressive in contact and quickly lift hands to show no contact at PTB .. from my knowledge of corporate there is a strong move towards protecting brand image and I wonder whether players are being given the corporate message now , especially in the opening 20 mins..
