Gist?
Mate it end up being a job interview
He come out swinging at the start labeling the first half garbage saying the players are boys not men.
Then reed asked if he feels job safe and then Madge went into his been strap by salary cap and has done a lot of work in junior space due to bad cap and looking to complement that now but cautious not to get the cap screwed again.
They specifically asked about dale and he didn’t say no but said the above.
We had plenty of money under the cap, **but no one wants to come.**
To solve that we sign rejects from other clubs on big money like BJ, Joe O, Doueihi, Maumalo. How is that working out?
What sickens me most is some of our players - at times - look like they don't even wanna be there.
From my observations there's probably only a handful that show any pride in themselves, who help their teammates and try their hearts out.
It's very disheartening to see.
Idk what's wrong with this club!! It's any wonder we're sitting ducks for journalists, when it sends a strong message that we find it acceptable to have disinterested and uncommited players often selected in and representing our team.
Agree with the comments re😀oueihi, time to put him back at five-eighth and even make him captain. Despite any deficiencies, he's always looked to be our most encouraging leader.
Very insightful Lauren. Think the problem is twofold.
1. We have very few players that are from our system. It ain’t a fluke that Brooks, Douhei, Liddell , Seyfarth and Nofo are the only players that show any passion for our jersey. All of these have mistakes in them but at least they show a level of pride. The only player outside with fearless passion is Laurie
2. The game has changed quickly the past 2 years and what is required now to be successful isn’t what was needed in 2014. It’s no good having a big forward pack if you don’t have the capability in the backs to defend our many errors or pose any threat other than kicks and the occasional intercept. Look at today , last week, the week before …we were gone in 20 mins so it didn’t matter what effort the forwards put in cause they know as soon as the opposing team spreads it wide we are screwed. How demoralizing Compounded by that is we don’t have forwards mobile enough who have the fitness or desire to cover the backs misreads , the only exception I have seen is Seyfarth. Watch Storm , Panthers , Eagles and you will see they are continuosly covering from the inside . Why don’t we do that when it only requires fitness, extra effort or pride ?
