I have heard Maguire wants Connor Watson but won't as long as Mbye is on the books as it would have to much $$$ tied up in one position. If we were to sign Watson it would mean wed have a $900k player in Mbye in reserve grade which is salary cap suicide. If someone takes Mbye off us expect us to increase interest in Connor.


That position would be 14.

Wonder what that means for Hastings?
I don't see what the plan is for him..

13? Not sure he's ever played lock.

The plan at this point is Hastings 6 and AD centre.

Look at NSW , their halves in games 1 & 2 get early ball to the centre’s and they pretty much win us the game. Game 3 , the halves do the complete opposite and the centre’s hardly touch the ball. Douhei would be a great centre if we get him early ball same as roberts. Douhei at 5/8 is not going to get the ball out.

Did a second look at the game, and thought our forwards looked good. Noticed Offa doing a lot of talking, and had a good game. Stef and Mickalie showed some grunt as well, and Tuki with a couple of extra kilos will be something special.
Our halves looked good, and Laurie is starting to form a good combo. If we can get the backline to defend , i can see the sun behind the clouds.

This Xavier savage playing #1 is going to be a superstar. Raiders have both him and Nicholl-klochstadd signed up for 2yrs. Not sure how they are going to use them when both fit

CNK will play centre next year, the Raiders have high hopes for Savage

We need to look around and find the next Diamond in the rough young talent and poach with the money. E.g Ponga, Walsh.. Does anyone know of any that stand out ??

There are no big name players off contract.

I am resigned to another signing update of fringe first graders and players unwanted by other clubs.

Signing youth is a long term plan that may never work out. To get results you need a good side around these players while they develop and you need to have them signed long enough so that they are locked up when they do become first graders.

With a squad made up of cast offs, fringe players and kids we will continue to be a fringe first grade team.

If you look at 2005 it was a based on kids we had developed and hard headed first graders we brought in to support them. We need a long term plan and need to be identifying those 2022 off contract players that we can offer good contracts to to build around a young team.
