18 months ago we all spoke about 2022 and 2023 being the years we started to get it together and become a top 8 (or 4) side. Mainly due to flicking the likes of Packer and Mbye etc - big contracts.

We have made some progress. Stefano, Joffa and Laurie are good finds. AD needs to stay at 5/8. Apart from that we still look like a bottom 3 team for next season and require plenty of reinforcements to get out of the cellar.

Cash not the issue. Plenty left in the cap. Just can't seem to spend it or attract the players who can make a difference to our side.

It seems most of his issues are off field. If he can behave as we expect a grown man to do, he has the size, pace and a point to prove to himself that he is an NRL player. He may be a good acquisition.

Mate Bulldogs have won less games in the last two seasons than Tigers have won in 2021 alone, and the consensus is Tigers are having a bad year.

Bulldogs have no position to be crowing or carrying on; they've been an absolute shambles on and off field for several seasons now.

Whatever you think about the Bulldogs for 2022, there hasn't been a ball kicked or tackle made yet, so you can only crow after the results have actually come in. I am sure Titans fans were tempted to crow last year about their 2021 fortunes, and they've done bugger-all with the huge signings they pulled off.

Jokes on us if we poach any of those for $700k a season even combined. If we don’t poach clubs rejects and go after some great talent then we should continue to build.

What is scary is that despite how bad we look we are still 1 win out of the 8 with a bunch of kids in key positions learning the trade. They will be better next year.

TPJ on 700k a season is huge investment for someone who hasn’t performed for 2yrs. He on his day can be brilliant almost SBW type but geez his defensive reads a terrible.

If you asses the recruits this year the Bulldogs have gone after the trouble brigade - Dufty, Vaughn, TPJ. Those 3 can add value but they can also create massive problems within squads. Dufty is also injured a chunk of seasons. They have no depth coverage with Meaney, DWZ and Hoppa gone. JAC is quality but without a quality hooker and half he will hardly see the ball anyway let alone have space to use his speed. Sure play him at fullback but his effectiveness will dry up as he isn’t a ball player & teams will keep the ball away from him easy enough.

They should be a top 6-8 team but in context thats only another 5 wins on what they have today, 1 more win than us with our current roster. The amount they have spent doesn’t leave alot more to go into getting players to support another 10-15 wins though to be competitive for the title.

They will improve but they are after shiny assets rather than win shares.

Nothing wrong with that, I know I am. You probably are too, it’s expected at this point. As I have said before though, I remember telling people to be patient in 2014. What happens if still haven’t made the finals by 2025-26, are there still going to be some who scold others for not being patient. What a BS term to use on supporters who haven’t seen finals for 10 years, and only 3 years in 21.
