I find it funny that you need to email the player managers to find out which players are off contract when NRL.com already have a list.

The only thing that isn’t mentioned is some players might have player options for next year which aren’t public and or some players may be ‘off’ with their club so they could be available with a bit of negotiation.

It would also open up dialogue and reinforce our willingness to bring new players into our system.
However, I would have thoght that this type of communication is already going on.
Maybe it was Sheens putting it out there: I'm back, Wests Tigers are back and different this time.

Maybe sheens has a ‘different’ relationship with the player managers.
He would of still remained in contact through his time at England to scout potential expats so prehaps that’s what it’s about, touching base ans getting a another perspective on where we can move forwards.

What’s also not mentioned is there a players off contract and there are players off contract that would be interested in joining the tigers.

How many people are involved in recruitment? When there is a disagreement, is it scissors, paper, rock to decide who gets the final call?

They do need to figure who’s job it is and leave it to them. No doubt Madge should be involved, but is Hartigan, Sheens, or Pascoe the one dealing with the clubs and player managers?

There is an article in DT about Sheens has emailed all player managers asking for a list of there best off contract players.. Sounds promising and good to see he is not sitting back and waiting to he arrives. He cannot do any worse then we have been doing.

Sounds embarrassing, shouldn't the club already have this?

Managers don't send us their lists, because they know their client won't be interested in us

Oh well, looks like the chance of any player coming to finish the season with our WT is done and dusted.

Can only hope that Sheens can have an impact on lots of things with recruitment at the top of that list, else it's gonna be a lonnnng off-season.

We need to build this side around Stefano, Laurie and Doueihi. I think Blore will start to shine and happy with the output of Joffa. We have some talent coming through - Simpkins and Simpkin will be NRL mainstays. The rest can move on as far as I'm concerned.

Agree. And don’t pay overs for has beens. Keep finding gems and build a young team together. And find them a coach that understands the current game.
