A guick analysis of the criteria/players selection in this thread, and not even one considers a player defense as a player primary capability!
This definitely comes as a surprise, as we are well known as a team that plays exrtremely bad defence!
Therfore a question: how many fans on this thread actualy watch our games?

I cant let this go without mentioning the irony of this post being made by someone named "in**benji**wetrust"

I don't know who this kid is and at only 15 he may never play NRL however it really peeves me that ahole Tedesco is now used as a recruitment tool in our junior area. The sooner Kimmorley and Sheens get in to the area the better as our current junior pathways seems to be a joke.

NRL 2021: Roosters land another junior star in Camden Rams product Lachlan Dooner

A personal sales pitch by skipper James Tedesco has helped the Roosters snare another budding star from his old stomping ground at Camden. The James Tedesco seal of approval has helped the Roosters secure yet another junior star.

Lachlan Dooner is still just 15 but it’s a name to keep an eye on after the Camden junior agreed to join the Tricolours set-up last week.

Dooner, a talented centre, comes from a similar background to Tedesco — both are Macarthur juniors and Dooner attends renowned rugby league nursery St Gregory’s College, Tedesco’s alma mater.

It was these links, and a personal sales pitch from the Test and Origin superstar himself, that helped the Roosters land Dooner ahead of several other clubs.

With Trent Robinson, another Rams and St Greg’s alumni, also boasting strong links to the area the Camden to Coogee pipeline is in rude health.

Rangy, athletic and blessed with excellent ball skills, Dooner can play fullback, centre and in the halves and has the size to potentially switch to the forwards once he physically matures.

The junior set-up for next season is yet to be confirmed but Dooner will likely form part of the club’s Harold Matthews side, which is again expected to be an Under 17s competition.

Dooner played in the centres for Combined Catholic Colleges at the NSW Schoolboy Championships in June, scoring a try and kicking five goals in a thumping 42-8 win over Combined Independent Schools.

He also crossed for a try in the 18-14 victory over Combined High Schools.

Smart judges considered him extremely unlucky to miss selection in the team of the tournament, especially given he was unfamiliar with the position when the tournament began.

The Tricolours have become one of the NRL’s best clubs when it comes to junior development with the likes of Sam Walker, Egan Butcher and Joseph Suaalii all making their mark in 2021.

Wests Tigers - The development club

??? Roosters development my arse hole. They bought Walker and Suaalii in the past 12 months.

We really need to work on our relationship with St Gregs, build them back up to where they once were.

I deadset reckon Sheens will be all over the junior pathways and not to many will get away from him...its because Club/Pasco let the pathways slide that other clubs have been swooping...hopefully we build up a strong junior base in the not to distant future....
As history will tell you clubs need juniors.....

Group 6 is a Wests Tigers catchment area yet most of the players end up in the bulldogs, Paramatta and roosters systems. Hopefully the fact they're merging with the Campbelltown competition means the Tigers will take some more interest in them. Plenty of talent in the comp!

Anyone else think Jason Taumalolo could become available in the off-season?

He's contracted until the end of 2027, and just turned 28, so he'll be 34 in his last season. I'd definitely think about picking up his salary if it was subsidised by the cowboys.

Mate - I've been saying it for weeks....
Seems to me the new Cows coach is doing his best to get rid of him.
He's been the best player there forever, and being treated like the window cleaner.
Weather it's coming from the coach or above - I couldn't say...
I'd be shocked if he sees out the contract he's on.

Cant believe the way the Cows use him, they just use him as a battering ram.

Was told by a flegg staff member earlier in the year that Dillon is pound for pound the strongest in the club, he told me he weighs mid 80’s and can bench 160kg and squat close to 200kg. He told me cardio wise he’s in top 3 in whole club. He told me its a massive effort as he has never had an nrl pre season just the odd session here and there, the guy who told me would know, he had something to do with Dillon in sg ball at the dogs before coming here.

Sounds like someone pumping him up. He's highly talented but has still been swatted away in defence in numerous occasions.

I’ve seen Dillon play he’s the fleggs best attacking player looks dangerous every time he’s got the ball yes he does miss tackles but most fullbacks in the nrl are sus in defence massive fan of daine Laurie probably our best player he miss tackles all the time

He is correct I have coached out there for the past few years.

Last few seasons have had Jake mullaney, Jacob Loko, Bryson Goodwin, Jeremy lattimore just to name a few experienced names running around.

The comp is littered with previous rep juniors etc, that for whatever reason didn’t make the cut in first grade.

Plenty of talent across all grades, with the new group structure G6 and Wests competing again. It will be great to try and keep juniors in our feeder system.

What has been a problem since I was playing over 10+ years ago, is that out this way, when a team has become too strong, or end up being the only team left in an age group, they end up requesting to move to other competitions. To keep playing.

Now with the new structure it’s planned to keep Div 1,2 and 3 in every age group coming through. Keeping more players in the district.

And before you think all the best players should be in div 1, it doesn’t always work that way at junior level. I remember a ESA div 2 team that had the likes of Ryan Hoffman, Bryce Gibbs, Liam Fulton etc as juniors.

Imo…The re-joining of comps, will only strengthen our catchment areas, allowing more players to stay involved for longer, and all teams to stay in our catchment districts.

There's definitely something suss going on up there hey. Payten playing him out of position, cutting his mins, calling him out publicly for poor performances.......who breaks hand 3 times in a season as well?

I'm not up to date with the juniors anymore as I've moved to volunteering with the seniors club but there's always been a heap of talented kids in the competition. Sean Keppie, James Tedesco, Nathan Hindmarsh, Ray Stone, Beau Scott and plenty others came through group 6 clubs as juniors.

This year there's a lot of former NRL players in group 6 first grade too

Why would they? The tigers have a long history of ignoring the entire Macarthur area

Daine has to try and tackle ten times the amount of players than any other fullback in the competition due to the amount that are missed by the rest of the team, so he is going to miss more tackles than most fullbacks.

Yeah it's probably the reason why he was leading the NRL for most try saving tackles, before his injury.
He's been pretty solid for a rookie. Believe he also had the most kick defusals at one point too - with a 92% success rate.

He should be better defensively than the entire storm team by round 1 2022 with all the practice he is getting
