Was told by a flegg staff member earlier in the year that Dillon is pound for pound the strongest in the club, he told me he weighs mid 80’s and can bench 160kg and squat close to 200kg. He told me cardio wise he’s in top 3 in whole club. He told me its a massive effort as he has never had an nrl pre season just the odd session here and there, the guy who told me would know, he had something to do with Dillon in sg ball at the dogs before coming here.

Sounds like someone pumping him up. He's highly talented but has still been swatted away in defence in numerous occasions.

I’ve seen Dillon play he’s the fleggs best attacking player looks dangerous every time he’s got the ball yes he does miss tackles but most fullbacks in the nrl are sus in defence massive fan of daine Laurie probably our best player he miss tackles all the time

Daine has to try and tackle ten times the amount of players than any other fullback in the competition due to the amount that are missed by the rest of the team, so he is going to miss more tackles than most fullbacks.

Yeah it's probably the reason why he was leading the NRL for most try saving tackles, before his injury.
He's been pretty solid for a rookie. Believe he also had the most kick defusals at one point too - with a 92% success rate.

He is amazing under the high ball for such a young short fullback

Hope we keep him.long term

Happily have a few more like this kid in the team.
Tries his guts out every game.

If all our players had his heart we would be known as wests storm

Practice makes perfect though Bathurst tiger lol

He should be better defensively than the entire storm team by round 1 2022 with all the practice he is getting

I wasn't knocking Daine it was a complement that he has to do so much defencive work and is great at it.

This Thompson Rumour won't go away.
Apparently we might consider lifting our offer for him and if reports are correct that Dog would pay 200k I think we should give it a go as we have plenty of money.
Dogs in salary cap mess already and even Gus said they only have 1 spot free for next year for a min wage guy. How do the powers at that club justify going all out for TPJ and leaving them in this situation already.

No one has been more critical of our recruitment than me, but something will give eventually. Surely.

He is not that good that's why they are getting rid of him. there goes 600k a year on another average player.

Why should we help Pumpkin head get his salary cap under control by taking the Dogs reject under performing players.
Leave Thompson were he is and let the Dogs suffer.

We don't take him someone else will.
He is also a very good player and only 26 years old. I would not take him full price but if we could pick him up for 500-600k next year I would not have a problem with that.
I am over just recruiting juniors or end of the line players as we need a mix and quality to take the next step.

Can definitely understand the club wanting Thompson, makes a lot of sense for us. He's a quality player, works really hard on the field and actually likes to defend

What will he be on the year after $850K?

Not sure but he has 2 year left at Dogs and if we were to offer 3 years and maybe 4th year CO that might work.
Dogs would need to contribute for the 2 years or maybe a higher amount for 1 year and we spread it across the term. Most top line props are on 700 to 900k and we are not a club that can pick and choose unfortunately at this stage.
