The fact that some people want Taylor is indicative of how much our club loves mediocrity. It's just a massive no. He's been a failure for many years now. The chances of him coming good again are one in thousand.
We're much better off targeting players that can have an immediate impact, or at least have the possibility that they'll turn into the player we need during the contract. We can't keep gambling our precious squad spots trying to squeeze blood from a stone.
If we had a dozen roster spots open then maybe for 150k on a one year deal. With where our squad is no way...
Taylor at the right price to me is a good buy. The outlay is not great but the returns could be great if he fires. I don't believe the Gold Coast is the easiest place to concentrate with so many distractions.
So you see no value in having a noted organiser in Hastings having one of the two positions?
Or you like the idea of Taylor being a backup for either Brooks or Hastings.
I really dislike having all these players that can play halves but can’t lock a position (douhie, brooks, Hastings, Taylor, peachey) all in the same team. Madge will just rotate them all in and out all year as we lose and the team will get no consistency.
We need to remember Prince came from the Cowboys and really wasn't at his best. I recall a broken leg as well? With mentoring he came back strongly. I have high hopes for Ash Taylor.
If Taylor coming means less time for Brooks, everyone should be on board.
Deadset enough is enough with the midget
I think a Taylor and Brooks combination will be very effective.
