Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

The fact that some people want Taylor is indicative of how much our club loves mediocrity. It's just a massive no. He's been a failure for many years now. The chances of him coming good again are one in thousand.

We're much better off targeting players that can have an immediate impact, or at least have the possibility that they'll turn into the player we need during the contract. We can't keep gambling our precious squad spots trying to squeeze blood from a stone.

If we had a dozen roster spots open then maybe for 150k on a one year deal. With where our squad is no way...

Taylor at the right price to me is a good buy. The outlay is not great but the returns could be great if he fires. I don't believe the Gold Coast is the easiest place to concentrate with so many distractions.

So you see no value in having a noted organiser in Hastings having one of the two positions?
Or you like the idea of Taylor being a backup for either Brooks or Hastings.

How does everyone feel about the garner situation though? has been rumoured for 2 years now played with manly coming through still lives in manly it would be ideal for garns and manly but who would we like back as i stated id love to have sipley he runs hard hits hard and gives his all thats what we need at the club

Garner is a very good player.

Taylor and Brooks.

I don't think Marty coming back to tigers is a good idea @TigerWest he's asking for 850k - 900k for a player who looks like Tarzan plays like Jane he disappears too much in games for my liking and probably only has 2 or 3 years left in him

These guys aren’t world beaters but are the best available and we should be going after some of them.
Think of the season we are going to have next season with only Hastings and Gildart coming.
100% it is going to be a disaster.

Now think of us next season with Hastings, Sims, Scott, Tapau, Peachey.
We NEED to sign some new players.
Eliott and Woods are a pass for me

If we can get him off the books just go for it. Not tough enough for NRL in my opinion. Sims would be the ideal replacement and would leave us with 3 obvious gaps - a centre (Scott?), an aggressive front row parter for Stef (Thompson) and a consistent hooker short of a really competitive side. Hoping Simpkin comes on next year. Just my two cents.

I really dislike having all these players that can play halves but can’t lock a position (douhie, brooks, Hastings, Taylor, peachey) all in the same team. Madge will just rotate them all in and out all year as we lose and the team will get no consistency.

Well what I've been hearing if marty leaves manly then manly will sign garner then once garner leaves us we will sign sims , Scott and a few others I wouldn't mind Spencer lenui to partner stef in the front row but personally id love Sipley to join us and play front row with stef hard runner with a good offload

I read a Fox article which indicated the Warriors were chasing Luke Metcalfe from the Sharks. He's a very exciting player who tore our 'right side defence' to shreds.

I would throw a crazy number at metcalfe, the guy will be a superstar.

I get gun shy with these young superstars. Remember the hype around Staines?

Luke Brooks over here: Remember when I killed it in my debut and was compared to Joey?

Hi Luke , yes you had a great debut, we all loved it. I hope we see you play atleast one game in your career better then that game.

We need to remember Prince came from the Cowboys and really wasn't at his best. I recall a broken leg as well? With mentoring he came back strongly. I have high hopes for Ash Taylor.

If Taylor coming means less time for Brooks, everyone should be on board.

If allowed to play their natural games, I believe both will be effective. Taylor is a good organiser with a very good kicking game. He's also smart with the ball in hand.

Ash Taylor is not the answer we need sorry we have an organiser with a good kicking game coming in Jackson hastings. Ash Taylor made a total 16 appearances this year and in one game missed 7 tackles against the broncos he is not whats needed
