See here's the thing, Des used to carry around a giant stats book with him, and in his world (which is not necessarily the real world), Tolman is the best prop in the game, which quite frankly is rubbish. He's not the type of forward we need, we're ok for props, we need a world class backrower.

I agree stats aren't everything but they do help
Every coach uses them to try and get better out of their players and it shows them where they need to improve
But what would Des know
He only won two Grandfinals as coach with Manly in 2008 and 2011
He also took the Bulldogs to 2 Grandfinals and a minor premiership not to mention other final appearances
Not sure what's better
Winning a grand final in 2005 and one other finals appearance or Des'es record

He can't make meters
He can't play big minutes
He is always injured
He just can't do his job

Your a stats merchant that doesn’t watch footy. Tolman is the worst prop in the NRL.
Kev Naiqama would be better hitting it up after Klemmer, Kasiano, Graham.
Put him at the Tigers last year and the dogs forwards would have ended his career.

Aloia and Eisenhuth are top class.

Lawrence and Taylor are very solid. McQueen has been class when fit.

Depth through guys like Chee Kham and Rochow.

Marsters and Milne could both end up in the backrow once Taylor and Lawrence move on.

We need an Origin level fullback, centre or halfback.

Thats it.

Eisenhuth is good. Hel be lock hopefully. I like Ailoia and hope that Ivan gives him plenty of game time this year but none of the 2nd rowers are world class. I just hope who Ivan puts in there maintains a better defensive system then we have been sing the last few years. Packer, Twal and Matulino are great defensively so if the 2nd rowers are defensively sound then we wont have our centres racing infield everytime because they are cutting off a overlap.

I hope next year we will have a backrow of Taylor,Ailoia and Eisenhuth starting every game.

My understanding it would be our 29th as this is just an exemption to give us more time as these rules are just coming in. There is another club with an exemption but I cant remember who it was.
