So a lot forumers say we are no hope .a few changes to coaching .do we still have same strengthing and conditioning team for the off season

It’s all been said already about the last 10 years. If you have no hope for the future wouldn’t you be better off doing something else rather than torturing yourselves here shooting anyone down who tries to look for something positive to look forward to next year?

What’s the point of a draft of players aren’t tied to the team for their career like in other leagues. You’d just have the best rookies going to the lower clubs and getting experience before moving on at the first opportunity

Not if the lower clubs start winning because if it but

Not going to start winning with 1 or 2 rookies

Maybe not in year 1, but that’s not how it’s meant to work. A club that’s been at the bottom for 2-3 years should have a handful of the best young guys in the game.

Think of all the best rookies to debut in the last 3 years and imagine they were distributed between us, the Bulldogs and Cowboys. All of a sudden there is some hope of climbing up the ladder again.

If someone downvotes me , it’s probably because I said something controversial , or polarising . It’s the nature of the beast. It hardly means the person I disagree with is gutless . They might be , but it’s the things they say ,and the way they behave that will inform that. Not clicking on the red thumbs down .

And from memory the guy who got the 11 downvotes said something that was extremely polarising .
Would you prefer a thread full of people saying “that’s bull crap “ ? What’s the point in that ?

Well as far as I'm concerned that we get rid of neg repping or the person thats neg reps is known .....

Neg repping does nothing in it's current form .....maybe it's causing some of the issues that seem to have overtaken the Forum lately

If you disagree with a post ..state your reasons why ...don't hide behind the thumbs down ....I think I've negged rep 2 people from memory ...Geo (who knows I have done it as he is a Mod ) and Hobbo to annoy him and he asks Geo who neg repped him anyway lol .....

I think Hodgson would actually make a difference and I’m hoping Sheens can help our attack and Cayless our defence. That’s what I’m hanging on to at this point.

I don’t see why you care so much is all I’m saying . It’s your choice to put your idea or thought into the ether .

Not everyone could be bothered to write war and peace to explain why they think what was said was garbage . The negative thumbs down is a pretty good indicator that was said was not well liked . If your into double figures , and it bothers you , then maybe a look into the idea or thought you had should be your first move . As in ask yourself “ why does everyone dislike that” . Rather than focusing on the downvotes .

Like when I post in the Luke brooks thread . I know it’s going to piss off the haters , but I say it anyway . Because I understand why they hate it . I just don’t care . They can downvote all they want .

Or in other threads ,I’ve said some bad stuff , copped downvotes , and it made me check myself. And I’ve had to backtrack and apologise .
Sometimes it’s cathartic to realise your internal monologue is off at times . And you may be having ridiculous thoughts .

There’s is some NRL hierarchy chatter today about the importance of having more balanced rosters and have a competition where teams begin each season with genuine hope for competitiveness.

That includes the possibility of a rookie draft. So Clubs with some $$$ cap space like WT may hold off some money to see how any of this that pans out and if it impacts 2022 recruitment year.

A draft, with certain conditions, would be a great idea.

But there's absolutely zero chance anything of this magnitude getting off the ground in time for 2022.

No thank you, last thing I want to see in the game is tanking.

Well you can be negative and list various draft systems failings but two things are on notice:

- Our current NRL recruitment methodology is a failure ….. so many holes in it that it’s policing is just regarded as a joke., and
- There are many well run examples of draft systems which have had many years to evolve and improve. As a result they do provide a better solution for NRL to follow.

Whether the Players association and the Courts would allow it ….. is the big ?……

Players association have previously said they will oppose any draft when it has been mentioned in the past. Their stance is that it is a restriction of trade for the players

I still hold out hope we announce something this week weather its a new signing or a re-signing a Stefo or LL etc...
I think we have missed a golden opportunity this last month with all the money available when no other clubs do and come next week most clubs have money available to sign for 2023. Once they get a player signed for 2023 they can start working on early release of a current player to get them in for 2022.

I am being negative because I am using my head. I have looked at our roster, I have looked at our recruitment and I have looked at how the club has reacted to a terrible decade.

My heart is always positive about my team, thinking 4 unknown super stars are going to turn up out of the blue, but my head says…your dreaming
