If the latter then I think that's great business.

The beautiful thing is, we've made offers to both Luki and Nanai and the Cows can't match either. It's only the Dolphins that stand in the way. The border closure is holding up the negotiations but we're almost certainly going to get one of them.

We can also thank the football gods that the Cowboys chose to sign Lucy for $700K per season (and want him next season).
Puts us in a better position to negotiate with the Cows than the Dolphins. Plus Sheens / Todd Payton relationship.

Well that would be incredibly disappointing. We go to the effort of having talks and signing an elite young player and he calls it quits after a week? Sure it's a big culture shock for him, but he surely has to at least try. He's got a few mates joining him in the coming weeks too, which should make it easier too.
Surely living in Campbeltown isn't that far removed from Cairns?!

Hopefully he hasn't just given up completely and the club can still work out some arrangements to make him feel more comfortable away from his home.

Hopefully he hasn't just given up completely and the club can still work out some arrangements to make him feel more comfortable away from his home.

I am sure that the club would be trying to do everything they can to give him the support he needs so he can adjust to life in the city but it still could be a forlorn hope

Would hope so. As for size, Currier was big back in the day, but would no longer stand out on the field in the modern NRL.
