With the signing of Jimmy Roberts to the top 30, leaving one slot available, have the Tigers given up on season 2022? I get the feeling it will be used to blood juniors and maybe solidify a few combinations the coaches want to see in years to come. We will likely be dealt some pastings and at this rate, I can't see Madge surviving. So for me its another year of low expectation but hopefully the likes of Tannous, Ma'anaima and Ogden get a go among others. As long as we resign Stef, I have much higher hopes for 2023 and beyond.

I keep reading how WT have filled 29 spots, but how does the signing of Papalii and Api for 2023 form part of our 22 roster. I probably got this all wrong but would appreciate if someone could explain.

As I understand it:

We had 27 signed players a few weeks ago, Junior Tapou was 28, JTJ (if he has signed) is 29, leaving us 1 more to get, we didn’t sign the last one, last season till late, so we may not see any signings for a while? Though Sheens does things differently good, imo.

Papi and API are for next year and have never been included for 22, unless we trade players away?

If we have given JTJ a spot for 22 I don’t think we will be announcing a new signing for 22 until late in the season as well not unless a big big name suddenly becomes available after Christmas but don’t see that happening hopefully we do announce more signings soon for 23 but

Newcastle didn't expect Pearce to leave a year early. Clune was signed as a backup with Pearce and Clifford as their starting halves, now they need a Pearce replacement.

I doubt if the club would release Brooks under any circumstances this year as we dont't have an adequate replacement,Lucy is far more likely if we can get the right exchange from the cows

Paulo gone, though Thompson seems to remain some sort of chance of an agreement on the dollars being reached. Not totally against getting his signature, but I am not keen on raising our offer and would prefer to keep options open than upping our bid.
