Paulo gone, though Thompson seems to remain some sort of chance of an agreement on the dollars being reached. Not totally against getting his signature, but I am not keen on raising our offer and would prefer to keep options open than upping our bid.

Yes, I’d be happy if we could get say, Heilum for Lucy. I know many want Brooks to move on but not me.

We could really do with a Pommy thug up front, but I agree his cost is hard to justify. Rather take Kapow back on a one year plus CO for a 2nd?

He won't go anywhere anyway. He's on too much good coin. Even though Bulldogs will want him gone. Or at least pay less of his earnings.

That article serves the purpose to let Brooks' know the Knights still want him. Also its also tantamount to an admission the Knights are in trouble for halves.

It also states that they have Jake Clifford and Adam Clune, both who they recruited last season, on their books. Why recruit them in the first place if you want to chase Brooks?

newcastle realise Brooks is an nrl class 6 or 7 they are rare. Halfback of the year 2018 under Cleary played average in an average team.
We do not have a 6 or 7 to replace him at that level therefore he will stay. Let's see how Newcastle go with Clunes or Clifford.

Obviously they don’t know he’s overrated and has been our anchor for years.

He serves more purpose being at the Dogs creating salary cap dysfunction. It means other players may come under scrutiny for a move, which will impact results.

I have heard they have also losing Kaufusi to the tadpoles but that is in 2023
