Hate this political statements growing like a cancer in sport, same as the moslem girl who refused to wear a gay pride shirt and stepped down from an upcomming game in the womens afl. I turn off the sport straight away .Glad the sixers lost if they are still carrying on with this garbage

One in a nation where we jail 10 year old kids and the latest Australian bureau of statistics figures show that 30% of our prison population is indigenous (nearly 9 times the average) and the rate of deaths in custody is worse.

Anyway, let's get back on topic as Mick Fuller's mate only likes (literally as well) posts from the right or even further thereon and I fear this might upset him further.

Our club is involved in indigenous programs for many valid reasons, including ways to help reduce death and harm in the community whilst drawing attention to such issues, so I suggest that it is hypocritical whine about other sporting organisations. I am sure that the decision of re-signing of Roberts considered mentoring and such.

I’m Not saying youre not right about this , you are , but those statistics are directly proportional to the percentage indigenous men take up of the total people incarcerated . The real issue is black , white , pink, purple , is how do we get lower socioeconomic men to stop the generational cycles of abuse , drugs , and anti social behaviour.
Of this the indigenous take up a much higher percentage , because they’ve never felt apart of society .
It’s really 2 battlefields .
1. Stopping the inter generational cycles of abuse (which is the one no one wants to touch , because it means admitting some harsh truths about our selves and our culture , no matter your colour or creed )
2. Easing the perception of society around this . Which day what you will , definitely is true . Jokes , passing comments , subliminal thoughts . It happens .

What we don’t want is to be like the USA , where the issues will never be fixed because no one is intellectually honest about the real issues , on both sides , so they cling to virtue signalling, and PC garbage . That is the real killer to any paths forward .
Like you said , we have progressed plenty over the years , but the pc circle jerk will stop us all changing the way we think about it . But to be honest we probably won’t change . But if we teach our kids how to be inclusive , even if for some of you , you don’t agree , then hopefully the next couple of generations will do better . That’s if we arnt all under water by then , and swimming around with Kevin Costner .

It’s a shame you carry this perception though, not difficult to tell from the subconscious pessimism in your response… not trying to preach to the converted but the fact you even compared US and the issues we face in society regarding socioeconomic status shows a clear lack of awareness around the difference. Only telling you because I’ve been fairly well versed in the above subject matter - Let’s firmly believe in the younger generations to carry the torch forward like you’ve stated without any of the previous bias’ and baggage often imparted on them by their elder/s. ^
