I still don’t get how they can backflip if they’ve signed a contract? (Unless there’s clauses for coach etc?)
If he didn't want to work with Madge, He wouldn't have bothered having the conversation.
Word is he left Souths because he didn't appreciate how they treated Madge... Zero loyalty.
Roosters paid good money so he left.
Business as usual unfortunately.

Penrith and Manly paid us for the release of Ivan and Aloiai...
Same as the Dragons paid us when Benji signed for them from Rugby.
I don't know if money changed hands in the Matto deal...
He's done nothing in the 2 years at Parra of his deal he had with us anyhow...
Playing decent now because he tried to shop himself last year and no one wants him.

We have a history of letting clubs pay us to release players...
from all reports, We don't need money or cap space next year - And Sheens has already kyboshed the Brooks release...
So you could say we also have a (recent) history of telling clubs to go and get up inside themselves as well...
Don't recall....
Penrith paid for Madge most of the first year (If not more) from Memory....

Great. Sounds like we were the big winners in that trade.
thats the problem, we got nuffies coming our of every orifice.

They can't backflip. They're legally binding contracts. The only way they get out of it is if the Club lets them go.
You can’t lock them down mate. They should be happy to stay and build a team. But like we’ve heard with possibly Miller as soon as they get noticed their out of the area quick smart. Money doesn’t fix that.

Not if they have a get out of jail clause in their contract that states if Madge is not there they can walk

This is very disappointing news.
Even players with Madge links have said "no thanks" for two years now.
There is a genuine problem we just can't keep not addressing.
So Angus C approached us about coming and we meet up for the meeting and all went well... We offer a contract (Must of agree or been close as why else would we offer it) and now he has advised us no...
Only 2 reason IMO
1 - Using us like most players do to increase his value
2 - Madge is gone and he was the reason he wanted to come..
Either way we are back to where we normally are and that's bottom of the barrel.
TBH I cannot blame them for not coming unless it massive money as there rep careers pretty much end when you come here.. I know we have had all these injuries and refs hate us but at the end of the day something needs to change to get up the ladder and maybe a new coach might help with recruitment. If we are going to sack Madge I think it needs to be now so we can get our guy before it too late and let him help recruit HIS roster like Sharks did with Fitz..
