Wait so Mbye could be a mid year signing as of 3.5 years?

Unlikely will be from 2019..

Then why the 3,5?

Not sure. maybe it just means he will paid over 3.5 years (as we have space now) but is only actual here for 3 years. If so, thats some creative accounting.

As long as you hit the NRL rules of having 30 players on the books and you spend the requires minimum of cap dollars in 2018 any funds then leftover can be used for 2019 roster but are classed as 2018 dollars

They were saying that katoni staggs can goalkick and can hit them better than both Kahu and Issako

He can play too

He could be a realistic signing

OPEN MARKET MOSES OR CUT-PRICE TIGER

CANTERBURY fullback Moses Mbye has a choice to make — take up an extra season at the Tigers, and a slight trim on his wages, or back himself to be worth more money when his current deal with Canterbury expires at the end of 2020\. Mbye is a victim of the former administration’s back-ended deals.

The Bulldogs don’t want to let him go, but through good form and his young age, Mbye looms as the only real player that clubs are chasing.

Mbye has a three-year deal on offer at the Tigers, which works out slightly less per season than the remaining two years he will get at the Bulldogs — which is worth almost $2 million.

The current Bulldogs administration have made it clear they won’t pitch in a significant deal for anyone to play against them — including Mbye.

So they won’t be low-balled or forced to make a decision like they had to with James Graham last year. And while they are under the cap next year, they still want to clear space as they look to field a more balanced squad.

Hopefully he takes on field results into consideration. We’re on the up with guys like him, and possibly Cleary junior on the way, while the Dogs are in quicksand with no end in sight.

Problem is if his on 900k and dogs only willing to chip in 100k is he a 800k player?

No. Our offer of 500k is about right for what he's done. Same as Brooks. Dogs will pay eventually. If his agent can start putting pressure on them too then he won't get screwed out of what they owe him.

If Souths were throwing 500k at Su'a then why wouldn't we? If he's a line breaking back rower that's what we need. Lowe would be 4-500k, and would be similar to what we have and not really what we need.

I agree. If he's that good then yeah go for it. We should at least be matching what Souths offer, it doesn't sound like overs.

A more realistic signing will be Gehamat Shibasaki, a good young centre, wing and fullback more a left centre. 184cm 96kg . Not a goalkicker that I know of.

Kelly is OK in attack but a lot of Manly's defensive woes on that side of the field are directly caused by him getting himself out of position, or making the wrong decision. He is still young, has has potential but if he has been signed I can't see him ousting Fonua/Marsters.

Mybe will be offered 3 years by us matching the 2 years he has left at the Dogs. …it will be paid over 3,5 years some out of this years cap to lessen the hit over the 3 years similar to what the rorters did with Maloney a few years ago should the Dogs and Mbye agree...

That would be wise.

So that means were offering around 650-700k a season? When i first read a paragraph about it i thought we were nearly paying under a mill. Nearly had a heart attack haha

Kotoni staggs, shibasaki, sua’a, pangai jr, nick meaney, isaako. We need to poach at least two of these players. Don’t get why its so difficult

Maybe, because their Clubs want to keep them.

Maybe they don't want to move away from their families and friends. Maybe their clubs are offering them good contracts and the prospective of game time and development under top coaches. Maybe they want to go to a team which makes the finals regularly? Maybe we don't offer as much as other clubs.

Ethan Lowe insights for 2019.

Has been bog average this year. Why do we sign players that are past their peak & not wanted by his current club.

Correct he has gone off the boil big time this year, now starting from the bench.
Whether he has the sookie la la’s because Hess is getting a start in front of him, but he is nowhere the player he was last year.

Cut him some slack , he has had either 2-3 HIA's this season from memory

How many more before he is finished? That many injuries in 10 games suggests he has a health or technique problem

Would chase Isaako or Pearson from the broncos. Staggs and sebashski have been talked up, but are potential not proven.

Lowe is probably an improvement on Rochow, but not someone you would commit a substantial amount of your cap to based on age and recent form.
