If you think he’s a shit halfback ! Well that’s debatable , and Whilst don’t think he’s “shit”, I don’t necessarily think he’s been good either .
I don’t think madden can tackle . I also think he looks like halfback by numbers at times . A bit like how Cronk looked when he started . Demps was right , that’s a far better comparison. And we all know where Cronk got to .
Brooks’ defence is not over rated , when compared to other halves . If your comparing him to victor radley , well then that’s different .
Brooks makes decisions at times that are baffling . Especially at key times in matches . He also does stuff and puts himself in positions in that no one else is within 50m , like the missed kick . He fluffed that , sure , but the rest of the team was bludging 30m away . He honestly would have been better jogging though and letting the try happen . No one would be the wiser . But he didn’t because he was looking to make a play .
There’s something to be said for that . I don’t know what . Because in the end he did fail .
To me all of the above is obvious AF. The real debate is whether he’s worth keeping at a fair amount . We paid him off a dally m halfback of the year . He didn’t become that and lead the team .
But like I said , I think he’s on a hiding to nothing here .
He needs to go . And we need to build a new generation free of the pasts problems . And unfortunately he’s the poster boy of that . Fair or unfair .
