I’m worried about who he could possibly take with him if he stays. That’s why it might be wiser to cut our losses.

@ said:There are only two coaches you get rid of Cleary for Uncle Wayne and Maguire.
Otherwise I’d like to see Payten, Hodgo come in under him for 2 years with the view to take over. By then we are a solid club irrespective of the coach leaving.
Either dump him now for Madge or a younger succession plan. You can’t just get a new coach in 2 years of quality who would rebuild it again another way it won’t work.
@ said:@ said:I think the decision making on future signings should be taken out of Ivan's hands
He wont be able to make clear and conscious decisions in the best interest of our club
If a new coach puts his hand up to coach our club we should consider it
But only if Panthers come to the party with a substantial pay out and some players
Think about it
Say Griffin comes to us
He received a few calls from a few upset Panthers players over what happened
What players ?
Would they get a release and follow Griffin to the Tigers
Maybe Griffin can join our club in a non coaching roll so he can negotiate with new signings
While Ivan has to work under Griffin and with the players he signs
A bit like a Gus Griffin relationship
Oh please give me a break.
You have really gone 360\. Men in white coats waiting outside.
@ said:@ said:Most here, when Griffin got topped by the Broncos, were horrified whenever He was mentioned as a likely candidate for our Coaching job,
Now we have some turning him into some sainted Saviour .
Guys,(and ladies) he’s been sacked by the only two clubs he’s ever been a head coach of.
But let’s not take any notice of that.
Everyone is getting sucked in cos they they feel sorry for him. There are heaps better options out there. Particularly if we get heavily compensated by uncle Phil

Don't think so Cairnstigers - dumb idea imo.

Most coaches in the nrl get sacked

Hell Yeah, Ben Hannants appraisal of him last night was very interesting

I don't particularly rate Griffin or want him at this club but that "appraisal" was inarticulate dribble from an overbreeder who clearly had an axe to grind.

Indeed and he was brought in by channel 9 twice this week to discredit Griffin and throw his support behind Gould. I wonder how much they paid him?

And of course Griffin has no axe to grind in his interview, ,
Might be good to heat the opinions of Corey Parker , Moylan, and James Segearo, to name but a few, On the ability of Griffen,

I don't think it would be useful to hear from any of those people. Don't you think it might be better to hear from someone who might be able to give an appraisal that isn't tainted by personal grievances? That has a bit of balance? The truth probably sits somewhere between "he is the greatest coach ever and has been severely wronged" (the Griffin version) and "he is a complete numpty who should never have risen above coaching reggies" (which Ben Hannant/Phil Gould etc. would have use believe).
