Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Besides Latrell Mitchell,Lolohea is our best option. Has speed,is a great broken field runner and as he's competent at 5/8,has a good passing game.
He's got a stack of X factor

Kasiano willing to look elsewhere as his goal is to become a starting prop and it won't happen at the dogs. Was in the article about woods going to the dogs on Foxsports.

tbjjj rates far higher on the tedious scale than Milky!

I've lost count on the number of times the guy has said "I think Tedesco is staying" without any justification whatsoever.

Milky is a teen that has grown up on here with James as one of his sporting idols. He shows a hell of a lot more maturity than many on here, particularly in recent times.

That said, who am I to talk as I get called as being immature for not liking my (and others) posts character being changed. I think any reasonable person would know which talk is childish.

Tolman just resigned didn't he?

I'm not going to put anything past Des, he kept on Mbye at the expense of Reynolds.

I'm sure that wasn't by choice. Mbye was contracted and Reynolds wasn't…

No I think you'll find that they'd struggle to get anyone to take on Mbye at full fare with the way he's playing.

Yeah that's what I was saying - he had to flick Reynolds because he's stuck with Mbye on a horribly inflated contract and probably couldn't even get another club to pick up half his freight. Maybe we're just misunderstanding each other but saying the same thing…

Exactly what I'm saying. I think you're right. Misunderstanding but saying the same thing.

Still not keen on the idea of us signing Lolohea, but I guess it's gonna happen anyway. I just thought we could do better.

Who would you like us to sign for fullback? I'm struggling to think of many options if we miss out on Lolohea. Either way I am concerned that we will be missing the X factor in our squad next year but hopefully have a team that plays with a bit of heart.

The four guys I'd be going hard for to get released or sign to join would be Lattrell Mitchell, Connor Watson, Dylan Edwards and Gideon Gela-Mosby

Watson has apparently been carving up in ISP at Fullback. He's super under-rated and behind players at the Roosters.

I questioned a mate of mine who works at the Roosters in a senior position (not related to recruitment) whether the Roosters would let him go when I heard about Teddy. He basically said it would be so hard for the Roosters to keep him because he's too good to be playing reserve grade and will likely move clubs for consistent first grade. Watson also has the ability to play in the halves/hooker and could probably cover most of the other backline positions if required. He a smart player, super quick and wouldn't cost a bomb. Pretty sure he can also kick goals.

Mitchell, whilst young, will be a weapon. Covers full back and centre. Has some mistakes in his game but is only 19 with a big future.

Edwards and GGM are stuck behind players at their clubs too. Both massive talents. GGM and Edwards could both play on the wing if needed until they mature or get their shot.

You've always got Nofo who could shift back there too.

That's 5 fullback options.

Personally I'd target the lot. Most of them could play in the backline in several positions and one or two for depth. All off contract, all good players.

1\. Tui Lolohea
2\. David Nofoaluma
3\. Latrell Mitchell
4\. Moses Suli/Jamal Idris
5\. Gideon Gela-Mosby
6\. Josh Reynolds
7\. Luke Brooks
8\. Russell Packer
9\. Matt McIllwrick
10\. Ben Matulino
11\. Chris McQueen
12\. Corey Harawai-Naera (have a crack at him too)
13\. Elijah Taylor

14\. Connor Watson
15\. Sauoso Sue
16\. Ava Seumanufagai (provided he stays)
17\. Chris Lawrence

18\. Jacob Liddle
19\. Dylan Edwards

The only other big signings I would look at is James Graham if available and Nelson Asofa-Solomona provided the cash is there.

I'd also have a look at Curtis Rona (if available) Agnatius Paasi, Nicole-Klokstad, Hoffman/Lewis (for a year) as potential options.

MWZ and Milne for depth.

To be honest Jason, I would rather Michael Gordon for now - a competent, experienced fullback and goal kicker, which we will need once Moses goes. Then we can take our time to look at a more permanent option in about 18 months when some other players come off contract, rather than rushing into a decision to fill such an important position right now. Plus Gordon will be looking for a new home once Tedesco arrives at the Rorters - I reckon we could get him at a good price.

IMO Mitchell is the hands-down top fullback prospect if we are legit about replacing Tedesco properly and Roosters have any salary cap issues.

Tui Lolohea is alright but not in Mitchell's class, I reckon the kid will really come good in the next few years if given a FB role. He won't achieve it in the centres I don't believe.

He won't stay at the Roosters then with Teddy heading that way!

He could easily move to fullback and Tui to wing or centre. Personally I wouldn't splash big money at Lolohea and would prefer the other 4 I mentioned.

Tigers really need to get his right to set us up for the future with balance of experience and youth across the team. Our current ISP and 20's players are hardly much to brag about. Thomas M from 20's is probably our best prospect at this stage. For too long we've almost entirely depended on youth. You need a mix.

Gutherson making a fist of fullback, and kicks it from the sideline, I would be putting it on parra for a swap. He could play 6 this year and 1 next year

Gutherson isn't a bad idea. Another under-rated player. He's not a good kicker though. He's kicked some shockers and only seems to nail one after about 10 attempts from the same spot, trying to gradually correct how he stuffed up the one before. He's a fill in kicker and he knows it. After every miss, he's filthy and it's pretty obvious he hates the responsibility.

Same here, would ask for Gutherson in a Moses swap.
