Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

We are building nicely.
There is no hurry.
It's a long season and new players signing opportunities will emerge.
But we need to move Moses …. he is a cancer which must be removed.
Woods is not far behind him IMO.

When it comes to a replacement fullback it is important to consider what attributes do we need? Now we won't get a fullback as complete as Tedesco (athough even he is not perfect - particularly positioning..), but we can get someone who is as good as him in certain areas of the game.

Question is what do we need? A safe defensive fullback? Powerful running game? Play making out the back? Goal kicking? Kickoffs/dropouts? Organiser? etc

I for one dislike playmaking fullbacks. Yes a pass here and there is good, but i like then bobbing up in the middle getting offloads or running into gaps.

All depends on how brooks goes next year.

Still sweating on Packer and Milne.

Hopefully this week sometime.

We've got at least one of them. Not sure if Russell has made up his mind yet.

Good to hear Willow, Milne will be a real good NRL centre, now for the other one

Forget replacing Tedesco, there isn't an equivalent or better option on the market.

We should focus on building a strong team and fill the fullback position when the right player comes along. A couple of props, a centre and second rower are easier to find so that should be the focus for now.

A superstar fullback would be nice but teams like the Raiders and Roosters do ok with fairly avaerage fullbacks.

Fullback off contract list 2017
Darius Boyd, Nathan Davis, Josh Dugan, Jacob Gagan, Justin Hunt, Jordan Kahu, Kurt Mann, Peter Mata'utia, Gideon Mosby-Gela, Tyrone Phillips, Zac Santo, Billy Slater, James Tedesco, William Zillman

Once you take - Boyd, Dugan, Slater and Teddy off the list - it's drops in quality rather quickly.

I'd be more than happy with Jack Wighton. Bit better than "fairly average" in my opinion.

In terms on NRL fullbacks I think he is average. I'd have Teddy, Boyd, Slater, Inglis, Dugan, Hayne, Moylan and Coote in front of him, Munster as well.

Not knocking the guy at all just saying he is no superstar but he plays his part in a strong team.

Lolohea has got a really nice running game on him, a nice pass too. He could be exactly what we need.
