Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I copped flack for suggesting hoppa and kasiano, same people now praising them. As always the analytics come through. Got to put ur personal emotions and bias to the side.

Kasiano is exactly what he is. A devastating career bench player. He would be a great signing if people on this forum would realise what he is instead of saying what he isn't.

As for hoppa, I've always been a big fan of his. Showed his class tonight. Would be a great replacement for teddy or to fill centre.

I don't why you would get shot down for the Hoppa suggestion. He is class. The only issue I can see with him is not playing on Sundays but that can be rectified surely. I am a big fan!

Kasiano on the other hand, I think would be too expensive for the output he brings on the field.

I was one who give you some flack about kasiano, He would be would be good to have but too expensive for the output he brings imo and I read some where yesterday at he wants to be a starting prop.Happy to have hoppa in the centres,we need some experience in the backline. Have the tigers had any talks with hoppa and kasiano that you know of.

They made an informal enquiry about kasiano early last week haven't spoken to hoppa as far as I've been told though that might change after last nights game. If lolohea deal falls through expect the tigers to go after hoppa and Alex Johnson.

I'm one of his biggest critics but Hoppa was good tonight. I'd want to see him back that up for a few weeks though before i'd be prepared to sign him up.

Will he play Sundays?

I wouldn't mind signing hoppa, I think he'd be good for us, but we need to put somewhere in his contract that he has to play Sundays.

From what's the buzz this morning

TIGERS WON’T CHASE DUGAN
WESTS Tigers WON’T be chasing St George Illawarra fullback Josh Dugan to replace James Tedesco. They are far more interested in South Sydney’s Alex Johnston and the Roosters’ Connor Watson — who can’t crack it for a start with the NRL team.

Coach Ivan Cleary is keen on both players although it is highly unlikely the Roosters will release Watson, who is not free until the end of next season. Johnston’s contract is up at the Rabbitohs this season.

Would only sign Johnston to fill the wing spot… As for Watson he's definitely one that I'd chase, we need a ball player out the back as Reynolds will tend to play fairly direct

One game people. Sorry SG but Hoppa's output over the last 12 months has been extremely poor. He had a great game sure, there's no guarantee he will recapture old form going forward.

By all means take a punt on the right fit of player, even if the form's been mixed, but I personally have been very underwhelmed with Hoppa since he came back from his sabbatical.

Hopoate has been very classy in his return. I know we have thought about him. Obviously would need to agree to play Sundays, but he has had some very nice touches tonight.

So long as he plays Sundays this guy should be the first option we are going for. He would solve our fullback spot. He could solve a centre or wing spot as well.

Kasiano would be good, bulldogs would need to pay a portion of his salary for remainder of his contract.

I would suggest we don't put players forward based on one game. Jarryd Hayne suddenly gets positive press on here after tonight's performance, same with Elliott.

I agree with TYGA he's too small, I've been watching him all year, he's a go-er but at this stage not special. For all the talk of guys like Ava being "replaceable", Elliott is a mediocre replacement IMO.

185 cm and 103 kg is small? I can't agree and I would make a bid for him. He's young, a goer with ticker and he has some ball skill.

Curtis Rona saying if Force get cut he would come back to league, wants to go to dogs, but will go where ever he can, only 24, can cover 1 to 5.

Yeah just looked him up for fantasy league but 3 of his next 6 games are Sunday's including the round 18 bye round , pass … lol

I never rated him but he surprised me each time he scored
the same way people like Darius and Nightingale can find the line time and time again.

We have to get props first Matulino, Packer, Kasiano, Taga would be the 4 I'd sign.
Lolohea would be ideal at fullback but we still need another strike edge backrower, centre and winger. Curtis Rona, Mitchell, Bodene Thompson would be who id target.

Some underrated players that would be good Ofahengaue, Terepo, Vete, Kato Ottio, Tanginoa, Pulu, Paasi, Mosby, Milne.

Rona has no trouble finding the tryline. With Hoppa off contract I'm hoping we make an approach, we need a decent centre and I would prefer to play him there rather than fullback but at least he can also play fullback if required.

Buzz just wants us to go for crap players….if we get Alex Johnston for fullback I'll no longer watch our games till he leaves....Latrell is the real deal and I can see him running over the top of Tedesco for a try satisfaction....he been left out of the roosters side again today....Ivan if you had any sense what so ever you would throw some money at him

I'd take Rona for sure, but we still need to find a goalkicker! This has to be the priority… I reckon we should try and get Ethan Lowe off the Cowboys. Not sure they'd let him go though as he's contracted till the end of 2018

Terepo was mentioned in a player swap for Moses as someone Ivan wanted but then he injured himself when we played them. Can't find the article it was in.

Gordon's goal kicking still sucks, he has just shanked another one, so signing him for his kicking will be a waste of money

Joseph Manu is very impressive. Great feet and strong. Looks like he will be a wonderful player. As he hasn't been mentioned, I assume he is contracted for next year.
