Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

I have watched a bit of GPS rugby Sualli single handedly almost won kings the game against Joey's, he will be a gun in years to come.
Yes he has some baggage with who advises him and clauses but it seems like JAC to souths the drums beat louder.
Maybe Sualli fb and AD at 6 could work

Wayne Bennett saying JAC won’t come to Souths, that may as well be signed sealed and delivered to the bunnies

I wouldn't say no to Suaalii at all, but his management really seems sus. Maybe he just doesn't want to be at Souths, maybe his family are aware of the culture issues. Who knows.

But just curious, if it was a choice between JAC and Suaalii, who would everyone prefer?

Why not both?

Lol I mean if that's an option, why the heck not.

Everyone saying no to Sualli needs to have a good hard look at themselves. This kid is a special talent. And Bennett has now publicly ruled out trying to sign JAC.

So that pretty much confirms he’ll end up there 😂

Double speak by Bennett meaning they are going all out for JAC. Didn’t he say the same thing about Latrine?

and James Roberts

Wayne Bennett confirms Souths don’t want JAC

Damn, we thought we had him

With Kotoni Staggs out until round 13-14 next year there might be a chance for MBye to move to Brisbane .
Kevvie played MBye in all 3 origin games last year so he must trust him

JAC at the moment, proven very high quality player vs potential superstar who is a year or two away from debut

My main hope is that Madge can transform whatever squad he has next season from being flashy attack, score more than them type to a consistent defensive unit that other teams will start to take notice of…

It seems to be that the game is much more open now and this type of footy doesn't work. You definitely need to be good defensively but atm you can't grind out games 18 to 6 consistently.

We need attacking talent in our team.

Wait wait wait. Reading the JAC thread I have been assured several times that Souths always get their man, and the NRL bows and scrapes to permit that to happen.

Something isn't adding up is it.

It's a no from me as well. Suaalii already seems like he's going to be too much trouble. He obviously has a poor attitude. Thinks he's bigger than the clubs already.

Its his manager being the Donkey here
Suaalii has probably been told by his manager to leave it all to him

Yah that's one argument, and though I don't see it happening in the next 1-2 years - JAC could decline. Given our luck, that process would be sped up.

Whereas Suaalii, IF he is as good as he looks, could be a 10+ year player.

Suaalii won't be on big money next year. He'll be on a development contract and not able to play until halfway through the season due to his age. You're not going to pay him 500k for potentially playing 1/3 of a season. There's probably a cap on how much dev players can earn too.

Not unless they can get rid of Bird.

Could we take a risk on Bird and Mbye swap. I remember Scotty Prince came
To WT after some serious injuries and worked out well.

He’s actually quality when he’s fit. Broncos are willing to throw in a good portion of his salary too but don’t see us chasing him, Madge probably wants to stay away from injury prone players
