Signings, Suggestions & Rumours Discussion

Looking at the Grand Final with a glass half full rather than half empty.

WT next year will have the starting Prop from Penrith, likely to have the starting winger from Storm and Momo back in the fold being part of the Storm finals squad and living and learning in the bubble.

Surely these players can add experience to our squad and lessons learnt from contesting a Grand Final.

Also Marshall and Lawrence bring an end to the so called "Boys club" so a fresh start to the team and no reference to the 2005 Grand Final.

Still think 2021 will be a lean year if we retain Reynolds and Packer but more excited about the 2022 season with money to spend and some of these juniors some of the Forum Member's talk up old enough to player NRL.

Maybe we can just fast forward 2021 for our own sanity.

For what it's worth Storm to have too much experience and really love the size of their pack and Kenny has taken his game to a new level. Storm to beat Penrith on Sunday.

Take care and stay safe WT Forum Members and to the people who run this Forum you are the real legends in my eyes. Best set up NRL Forum going around.

What's the word on Suali? Apparently Madge has been sniffing around. Any chance?

Geez would like to think so but I also imagine he would always be a distracting headline and potentially unsettling for the team. If he is as good as they say he is, the ARU and Roosters etc would always be sniffing around ready to poach...

Can we once and for all eradicate the words ‘ball playing lock’ from rugby league

This isn’t 1995

They

Don’t

Exist

How would you describe Radley/Murray?
Compared to third props Twal, Nelson, etc

Murray’s best attribute is his running game. Radleys is his defence. Sure they pass every so often but that’s not their main job.

Locks need to get you up the field and tackle hard more than anything. Any of our forwards can throw a simple pass to our halves to create a bit more width.

Jimmy Dymock....ball playing lock goat.

Glenn Stewart also a legitimate one from more recent times. Jurbo as well to a slightly lesser extent.

He’s been developing some love for the chooks apparently. But you never know?

Bloody good defender and fierce competitors. There presence on the field is more important than their link ball they throw.

Lock is just another middle player these days.

If Jake Trbojevic was playing prop he'd play exactly the same way.

Manly actually have an issue with using him to ball play too much. His stats are way down and he’s a strong runner of the footy because he constantly passes instead of running, baffles me why he doesn’t run more

Wasn't the narrative the Dragons only wanted Brett and not Glenn. That is why both ended up at Manly.

Come November 1st Keaon Kolomatangi is able to be officially offered a contract. I’d be surprised if Souths let him go but he is a great young player who has been fantastic off the bench for Souths this year. I reckon he’ll be up for origin in a few years

Pretty sure he averages the most metres per game off the bench. Outstanding player!

Todd Payten used to do the same and make 50 metres a game. At least Jake makes a few more metres.

Way too soon to speculate. You would expect BJ to be one.

BJ never looked fit this year. A full pre season under Madge should get him back to somewhere near his best.

He has been at many clubs and I don’t recall him looking any fitter than he does now. Even when he was touted for origin. Can’t be too hard on Madge if he doesn’t

Nice twist on the old “if coach x can get him firing”

On this years efforts I can’t see BJ getting a gig bar injuries. He was lots of rocks mixed with the odd diamond. Talau,Momo and Moses M must be in front of him. Another big contract for the shopping list

Think he will be 100 x better without Benji being inside him.

Certainly worth the "Off Season" and at least 6 games next year.

Being paid a lot of money to drop him like a hot potato.
