I’m not liking the amount of contracts coming up at the end of 2023. Blore, A.J., Doueihi, Stefano, Laurie, Brooks and most probably Joe O. They need to be careful not to sign many players to two year contracts next season

it will turn out like when we had teddy woods Moses Brooks all off contract

To be completely fair, we should be in the 8 by 2023 so players wanting out won’t be as common imo. Most the time players leave our club to play finals footy

The only one who has succeeded in being able to mercenary themselves into any real success after dogging it on WT has been flash-fangs Ted. The rest of the imbeciles haven't had much more joy than if they'd stayed with us funnily enough. Karma is a wonderful thing?.

I remember him showing some impressive pace early in the season trying to run down Alex Johnston I think it was. Then he injured his hammy and seemed hampered from that point on. Hope he shakes off his hammy problems and can show some throttle again. Him and JTJ.

Non issue. If any of those players reach the heights we expect them to I’m certain the club will be upgrading them on a fatter deal prior to that.
It will also give the next coach some flexibility on roster if Maguire doesn’t work out after his rumoured upgrade expires.

EDIT: And wheres Douehi playing? I thought he was at his best in centres, doesnt have the pace for FB, lost us a lot of metres with the kick returns, BUT havnt seen him at 5/8 for a full game, keen to see that tbh. Wonder what Madge is up to, seeing as Jock Maddens incoming in FG as well

Who knows, but it is our weak spot and he had a few good runs there last year from memory, but still a lot to work on, not sure if we have anyone else to take it?

I think he will fill in where ever we are weak throughout the season.

Mao and Hitler for sure but Stalin's small stature wouldn't work in the forwards. He'd be more of an elusive outside back.

Stalin would be good for morale. He was quite the practical joker from what I've read and heard.

Listen to the second or third episode of the behind the bastards podcast. The guy was a despot but he would have been a laugh riot if you weren't a political enemy or part of the transitioning agrarian heart of Russia.

Apparently he used to laugh hysterically at his own personality cult. He found it hilarious how people would idolise him in such a way.

He used to shove tomatoes in the pockets of his politburo confidants and get them blind in 6 hour benders and shove them against hard surfaces to make the tomatoes burst in their pockets and ruin their pants. He also had a penchant for throwing orange peels at people. I laughed pretty much from start to finish of that podcast.

I’m going to give that a listen. Sounds right up my alley.
