Do we still have 3 slots available in the top 30 after the Momo/Laurie swap?

Should do.
Or was it 28 players that we had prior to the Laurie/Momo switcheroo?

27 players currently signed for 2021.

Surely there is a Gareth Ellis/John Bateman type looking to escape COVID ravaged England. Hope we are doing some scouting over there.

I’d prefer to be looking for a TNT in Tonga.

Now momorovski who is a decent player for dain Laurie
**We have defiantly come out on top**

Surely there are a few teachers reading this post who wish to make a few corrections
🤯
We are all guilty of this including myself at times so I shouldn't talk
But
This post just nails it in the last sentence

Doueihi kicked at 66.67% last season but really only full-time for the last 4 games where he went 5/6, 4/4, 3/4, 2/6 which was good for 70% on a smallish sample size. Mbye kicked 29/45 or 64.44% on an obviously larger and more representative sample size. With some off-season work with Halligan you would imagine something around the 75% or better isn't unreasonable to expect from Douehi? Using the eye test he hits them pretty well. In short, there's reasonable hope he can be a good, hopefully one day very good first grade goal kicker.

Doueihi has a good purchase man . His leg injury killed him , in running, kicking , basically anything where he had to hyper extend his leg .
That 2/6 game , he was chasing the goal posts . It wasn’t like Mbyes misses where , they were missing by heaps . That game where he got 5/6 from the sideline basically , seems more of an accurate representation.
Maybe 4/6 . But that’s fine with me . It means we are scoring 6 tries a game lol.

keep in mind they have to upgrade a host of players in order to keep the side together. Crichton, Luai, Staines, Leniu, Leota, Martin etc won't come cheap next time they come to the table. players like Salmon, Sorensen and Eisenhuth are players that can do a job when called upon that won't take up much cap space. trade for trade we've certainly come out on top but Penrith still have a far superior squad to ours.

Seem to be a bit light with depth though?

I'm not sure about that. I think 7 or 8 games in we'll be a fairly even match. Maybe not the halves but everywhere else.

Anybody know much about Dockar-Clay?From what I could see today he has floated around clubs and never really impressed,Played for Hull as well and didn’t shine,Still 3 spots left will be interesting to see who the club targets or promotes, could be 4 spots if Walters is released.

I married one does that count?

For everyone questioning the move to the Panthers by Momirovski. Here is a kid that has not once but twice removed himself from playing for us, and in doing so has strengthened our team.

Thank you Paul  🙂

In reality, Stains and Leniu will probably replace those guys, and they still have young Burton. They are still top 4 standard but their depth has taken a bit of a hit.

BURTON TO DOGS NEXT YEAR

Not sure where all the concerns about Momo and his great goal kicking are coming from.

AD is a far better goalkicker than Momo.

Did Douiehi Kick at 83% for Melbourne last year?

Have to agree 100% with what you are saying.

Whatever your thoughts are of Momo as a player he has on two occasions been at the centre of player swaps that at the time we desperately needed to shore up positions that we were decidedly shaky in.

Firstly by going to Melbourne so we could get Harry Grant to cover the dummy half position that we were in trouble with at the time and secondly by going to Penrith so that we could get the early release of a player that either solves or provides much needed depth in the 5/8th and Full Back positions.

Best of luck Paul and hope you absolutely kill it over there at Penrith, except of course when you play the Wests Tigers.

Still a panther this year and I predict he’ll be one of the breakout stars

I wasn't the best speller at school either
I failed many spelling tests
I think using spell checker on computers after I left school helped alot
But auto correct sometimes spits out a word that can change the whole meaning of the sentence
Like your last sentence
Thats why I commented

He’s got the same kicking percentage as Momo has for Melbourne.

One thing that baffles me is that Hastings has ripped up ESL and looked a class above it for 2 years now and many people on here still turn their nose up at him and say NO. Yet Gareth Widdop came over last year with a big reputation, did very little and looked average at best, in the very same competition as Hastings yet people still wanted to sign him when he was linked pre Christmas.

I hope you are not comparing Hastings with Widdop? Chalk and cheese.

You say "Widdop came over last year?"

He basically played here since 2010.

i.e. 2010-13 Melbourne Storm (71 games)
2014-19 St. George (125 games)

He earned his reputation don't worry. I know, so did Hastings, but that was as a Flog.

Widdop was outstanding and had a brilliant career in the NRL, I haven't once declared that he didn't. My point is recent form and peoples differing opinions on that.

Widdop flopped in a competition that many declare as average, yet Hastings excelled in it.

My point was, i don’t see how people would of still taken the older, injury prone player who looked average, but then not be interested in someone who's moved on to a lesser competition to rebuild his career, done exactly that and excelled from that point.
