Wouldn't mind thd club doing another player swap for the rest of this season... csnt be jake simpkins cause we need him badly incase liddle corks it, maybe tuki or kelma swap for another junior

Swap guys who no one really knows for... who?

We need centres badly imo.
Should be chasing some immediately.
Whatever it takes.

The chance of Finnucane is remote, and could be another Packer. Pangai would give us thrust , power and offloads which we need. A risk maybe, but we must gamble sometimes.
If we move Mbye and Walters, that will almost cover his freight, leaving us with plenty of dollars to buy some quality backs. Another centre, FB and or winger with speed, and Gijldart, and Hastings and the side is going places.

I was thinking of a swap with warriors

Media is pushing hard for Finucan but who knows how he feels about that.

He's gonna have to work extremely hard if he comes here.

I read somewhere a QLD was the favourite without specifying who however I thought it'd be NQ.

Not a bad idea.
A+

Really really hope we are all in for finucane 3 or 4 year deal 600 to 700 a season
Every single person in the know ses he is an amazing leading and is 1 of the main players driving the standards at Melbourne. even if his last year he hardly plays you will still get value from him off the field

That's a good plan.. if we can lose Mbye without too much freight.

He was our marquee once and doesn't really deliver so hopefully a club is still keen and we can lose that from our cap.

Media is pushing hard for us to chase Dale.
He is heavily strapped during games.
Hopefully he isn't too busted.
He's 28 I read so surely has some life left.

Don't need another Packer or Tamou as mentioned so hopefully he's ready to work.

I like the pack with him and TPJ in it but we may lose a Mikaele....

Regards Demps, but if the media, such as Sterlo (parra), Ennis (raiders, sharks, dogs) and others think so highly of him , why are they not chasing him? Obviously on the downslope, i imagine.

This would be a disaster. We have to get value for money from our recruits.

I don't think he is worth 700k or close to it and I doubt any other club in the comp will offer him that.

If we get him on a decent contract than he could be a very good signing.

@Everything-WT

Id take me both @ Overs for leadership and punch

Not on 4 years though for either....

Yeah I agree, I was asked yesterday who I would take if I could just have one. I struggled to answer.

Going hard for both would be the best idea
If we land both even better
Make Finucane captain as he is a true leader
Let him leed by example and others will follow
I hope
He is a true professional and players will definitely look up to him
Two hard men can turn this club around

Yeah I would go for both as they both bring something we lack, Paul Kent spoke at the weekend about why some players don't do well outside of the Melbourne Storm systems, he stated that some players are followers and will adapt to the system they are in, i.e if they are in a club with strong systems they will meet those requirement if however they are removed and placed in a club with poor systems they won't so as well as they will fit in with what is happening at that club. He said when you get players from the Storm you want to make sure you are getting a leader because they will bring the culture with them, set the standards and drive the culture. Finucane is a leader

As a club we are losing the collision in most games and that is where the game is being won at the moment, TPJ wins the collision so he would be a good get for us as well.

I say lets get both, but at the right price and length of contract.

Yeah, people have short memories, Packer was the enforcer and go to man we needed, paid a fortune and we got another Mbye,- Matalino,- and a crock from Melbourne with more strapping then the mummy. Please no forwards over 27, it's like buying a car with 200,000 on the clock, - it's due to break down.

I agree, but maybe at a good price (not the right price), what value do we put on making the 8 or better?
Once that has happened, I believe he gates will open.

That could be why...
Ennis looking out for his boy.
Pushing a deal so Finucan can stink it up for a few years on a loser team for top dollar.

I hope we can do better.

All this talk about leadership ( Finucane) sounds like last year with Tamou.
Who is to say it wont turn out the same way.

We have made some savvy appointments from a staff perspective recently, the next one should be a People & Culture Manager (not including coaching staff).

I'll take that job

The comparions between finucane and players like Tamou and Packer is so laughable it’s almost concerning.

I’ve never heard Craig Bellamy speak about a player like he did about Dale recently, that should tell you all you need to know

I'm an old guy,and these are the facts of life. Golfers like Day, and others get married, have kids etc, and lose the passion and drive. the wives and kids want them at home.
League players the same, the wives are in their ear, worried about injuries, concussions etc, and telling them to ease up.
Tamou is a prime example, he has a year or two left, he is not going to put his body on the line, sure he will try, but the passion has gone. Finnucans heart is with Melbourne, do people really think at 28 he is going to bring this passion to the tigers at this stage of his carree?

Come on guys, are we so scarred from Packer and Reynolds that we can’t tell good from bad anymore.

- he’s played in 7 grand finals (so far)
- Captains the Melbourne Storm
- who should have put 80 on us last week
- scores tries pretty regularly
- current NSW origin player in a very good team
- absolute rock in defense which is our problem
- was pursued by Belly ache
- would change the narrative that WT can’t attract premier players

I get he’s not a young dynamic attacking weapon but I’d rather get beat in a close defensive struggle than flogged by 50.
