I have to agree with Johns on this point in referring to a no go on Finucane..
“Johns said the Tigers are better off searching for 'the next Dale Finucane' who can develop at the club as they rebuild.
"Go find the Dale Finucane who is 19, 20, 21. And they're out there," he said.“

I agree , but I can't see us developing the next Dale Finucane

Maybe we could find the next Dale Finucane and then send him to Bellamy for 2 years

And when they return, send them to Penrith? Have to think of another title other than pathways? Got it!! “Highways”

Speaking of Penrith...

With Cleary out for a few weeks, hopefully they drop a few games.
And despite all their foundations and whatnot, surely their window is closing.

Couldn't get it done last year...
Maybe they will this year?
If not.... clubs come sniffing, sign a few of their stars, their depth is depleting with dogs Signing a few of their nexts in line.

any team with Cleary, Luai, Koroisau, Crichton, Martin, Kikau, JFH and Yeo is always going to be there when the whip starts cracking. if anything their window has just opened. Cleary's out for 4 weeks, it's not the end of their season by any stretch. if anything, he'll come back completely fresh and ready for a finals assault. you've also gotta remember Burton got man of the match when they beat Melbourne earlier in the season, and he was playing 7. they're still the best team in the comp by a distance.

This TPJ signing/not signing has become a mini saga. Can we just get a yes or no by the end of the week please

Think were getting played..again.
Dogs,Cowboys interested...but suspect Storm and Roosters also assessing whether their coaches can coach him..which opens up a whole newball game for him
Wldnt hold yr breath
Finucane wld have only one suitor for a 3-4 year contract at his age..sure hope it aint us
Unfussed if we get neither,,focus shld be a speedy top draw centre to accompany Oliver

I doubt chooks will sign Pangai after Robinson quoted saying they don’t want his type? Apparently Finucane is ok with a 2 year deal conditional on him having a third with player option. Cowboys have offered him 2 years. Can’t see a 30yo Backrower getting 4years. I think we’re in the box seat with Pangai.

So Robinsons type is Victor Radley...JWH...hmmmm
Coaches like Robison/Bennett and Bellamy can usually work with TPJ types(JWH was a shocker..Radley still is) and get em into line..plus JWH needs replacing as an enforcer probably end 2022.
If u see TPJ in a shiny new ford then...
Is be surprised if Roosters,in desperate need of forwards, wldnt be somewhat interested

I see your point. Just when you think that option has closed..The mentor working low key behind the scenes? Walters wouldn’t let him go would he? Not this year at least?

You know what Demps? I thought their window was opened wider last year. They’ve been dealing with cap pressure and injuries, but more importantly coming off the highs and lows of a GF loss. To make the job harder, they will most likely face Storm again, a team which goes about perfect execution, consistently. Maybe the Rabbits will knock one of them out?

I think if they don't get the job done this year then they'll be destined to be like Parra.

Always there about but never quite good enough.

Still better than us though, currently but our future will surely shift in coming years.

Penriff still have some development in their squad but the salary cap will start hurting at the end of the year.Pawwa have very limited growth and will decline quickly after 2022 imo, they have next to zero chance of a premiership

Yeh, I’m thinking the same. There’s some old wives tales about how the planets need to line up to win a gf, you need to lose one to win one, or you can’t win one if you get lapped by 50 etc. You don’t get many chances and when that window opens you have to be ready, like we were in 05. ?

I agree. Penrith are a great side who at top strength are very difficult to beat. But I think they go down a notch entirely with key injuries, for example fullback - Dylan Edwards isn't a top fullback and then they shuffle if he gets injured, especially because their 2020 preferred backup went to Raiders.

Storm on the other hand, they absorb injuries and challenges and just maintain that constant level of output, then they taper their form for the end of the season and dominate their rivals in the finals.

If I was a Penrith fan I'd be supremely concerned about meeting Storm in the finals. If someone else could knock Storm out, it would open the premiership right up, but I don't know if Penrith have what it takes to beat Storm in the finals. Teams can get Storm early in the year, it's common enough (even Tigers did it), but they are an altogether different proposition in September.

A lot will depend on your finals draw ......you could get a soft run to the GF if you were lucky .....

So Kurt Capewell has signed for Broncos for 3 years and add Reynolds and thats 2 Top line players for a team is disarray ..
Meanwhile at Tigers headquarters .... Crickets rubbing there legs together.

On a serious note I hope this mean they release TPJ

Broncos are still a club players want to sign for, in a player poll I think they ranked second or third as most desirable

100% as I live up here.. That's why we cannot afford to sit around debating over minor issues on contracts and should just be making it happen. You snooze you lose as they say.
I think the dogs were interested in Capewell so if him off the board they may turn up the heat for TPJ..

I would say it’s a good sign. Kev can save face by saying he’s releasing TPJ as they got capewell.

Capewell is for next year
They still have a season to finish
If they release him now they will want someone in return for this year

I think the dogs were interested in Capewell so if him off the board they may turn up the heat for TPJ..

They flew the CEO and head coach up to sign TPJ before it was known he was available.

Can't sign players if they don't want to join. We've seen teams paying overs for players doesn't translate to success: us, bulldogs, Titans, Knights etc.

So Kurt Capewell has signed for Broncos for 3 years and add Reynolds and thats 2 Top line players for a team is disarray ..
Meanwhile at Tigers headquarters .... Crickets rubbing there legs together.

On a serious note I hope this mean they release TPJ

I would say it’s a good sign. Kev can save face by saying he’s releasing TPJ as they got capewell.

Capewell is for next year
They still have a season to finish
If they release him now they will want someone in return for this year

Yes and will will be happy to offer SIR BILLY WALTERS or even SIR MOSES MBYE in a trade
